Dubrownik 2

Another great day in Dubrownik. We started out with weather kind of cool and rainy for a little while but by 11:00 is was 30c and overcast, which was good to keep the temperature down.  The four of us had breakfast at the restaurant close to the old city and when we done we split up and Joan and I went into the walled city and climbed to the top of the wall that surrounds the city.  We took a very leisurely four hour walk all along the wall and made stops along to the way to have something to drink and enjoy the views.  They are many incredible views from the wall, not only of the sea but also other parts of the wall that we would walk eventually and inside the wall, to city.  We met other tourists from different parts of the world and had a chance to talk with them also.

When we finally came down from the wall we went to see the Dubrownik cathedral and stopped at a café that was playing jazz.  It's hard to describe Dubrownik with just words and pictures.  When you sit on the wall or see the interior city and think about how long it took to big this incredible structure with the additional forts, the manpower, the years, the determination to make it impregnable, it's just so hard to imagine.  Like the pyramids of Egypt.

There are dozens of shops, restaurants, souvenir shops and other things now occupying the old buildings but the city still strives as a city.

Trudno opisać Dubrownik w zaledwie kilku słowach i obrazach.
