Ghent 2

We spent the day in Ghent, at the Graavenstein Castle. First we had breakfast at Le Jardin Bohemia. The usual boiled egg, toast, coffee and a croissant.

The castle was great! They have a feature called a movie guide. It's an actual 14 part, short episodes that tell the story of each room you visit as you tour the castle. Four actors play the parts of the important historical characters in the life of the castle. Even though, in reality, you are seeing an empty room, the hand held movie guide gives you a presentation of what the room was like centuries ago when Ghent was an important party of Europe's history. Each segment is only about 5-6 minutes long and when you enter a new room you simply click on the number of the room you are in and the story continues. We think it's a great way to learn about a place without actually having a guide to take you around.  We spent about 2 1/2 hours there and then walked around the streets and sat by the canal having coffee. Tomorrow we will go back to Bruges for a canal boat ride, visit more of the city and have dinner there somewhere. We also watched the movie, "In Bruges" again to gain more information about the city. I tried to arrange the slideshow you will know which room is which.

Spędziliśmy dzień w Gandawie, w Zamku Graavenstein.  Przedtem zjedliśmy śniadanie w hotelu Le Jardin Bohemia .Jak zwykle, gotowane jajka, tosty, kawa i rogalik.

Zamek był fascynujący! Na wyposażeniu mają urządzenie  zwane „przewodnik filmowy”. Składa się na niego  14 krótkich odcinków, które opowiadają historię każdego pokoju  podczas zwiedzania zamku. Czterech aktorów odtwarza  ważne postacie historyczne w życiu zamku. Chociaż w rzeczywistości widzisz pusty pokój, ręczny przewodnik filmowy  prezentuje,  jak wyglądał pokój wieki temu, gdy Gandawa była ważną częścią europejskiej historii. Każdy segment trwa  około 5-6 minut i kiedy wchodzi się do następnego  pokoju, po prostu klika się na numer pokoju, w którym się znajdujesz i opowiadanie jest kontynuowane. Uważamy, że to świetny sposób, aby dowiedzieć się coś o miejscu bez  posiadania przewodnika, który oprowadzi. Spędziliśmy tam około 2 1/2 godziny, po czym spacerowaliśmy po ulicach i usiedliśmy nad kanałem na kawę. Jutro wrócimy do Brugii, by płynąć łodzią po kanale, dalej zwiedzać miasto i gdzieś tam zjeść obiad. Oglądaliśmy też film "In Bruges", aby uzyskać więcej informacji na temat miasta. Starałem się zaaranżować pokaz slajdów, abyście mogli się dowiedzieć, które  pokój jest który
