Today is Flag day. May 2nd is not a national holiday, however many Poles take this day off because it is the only date in the calendar which occurs between two national holidays. Various types of patriotic actions and demonstrations are organized on this day.
In recent years, it has become common to wear a national cockade on that day. This custom was popularized by the late President Lech Kaczyński. Then it was continued by Bronisław Komorowski, and now, the current President, Andrzej Duda is also maintaining the custom. A cockade is a knot of ribbons(red and white), or other circular- or oval-shaped symbol which is usually worn on a hat.

Dzisiaj jest dzień flagi. 2 maja nie jest świętem narodowym, jednak wielu Polaków bierze na ten dzień wolne, ponieważ jest to jedyna data w kalendarzu, która ma miejsce między dwoma świętami narodowymi. W tym dniu organizowane są różnego rodzaju patriotyczne akcje i demonstracje.

Następnie kontynuował Bronisław Komorowski, a obecny prezydent Andrzej Duda również utrzymuje ten zwyczaj. Kokarda to węzeł wstążek (czerwonej i białej) lub inny okrągły lub owalny symbol, który zwykle nosi się na kapeluszu.
Mañana es el Día de la Constitución en Polonia, por lo que es un feriado nacional y dura un largo fin de semana.
Hoy es el día de la bandera. El 2 de mayo no es una fiesta nacional, pero muchos polacos se toman el día libre porque es la única fecha en el calendario que tiene lugar entre dos feriados nacionales. En este día se organizan diversas acciones y manifestaciones patrióticas.

Entonces Bronisław Komorowski continuó, y el actual presidente Andrzej Duda también mantiene esta costumbre. El lazo es un nudo de cintas (rojo y blanco) u otro símbolo redondo u ovalado que generalmente se usa en un sombrero.

Read an online article in Time magazine why it's so hard to learn a second language later in life. If you can't access it the gist was: At age ten you can still learn a second language and gain complete fluency. After 17 or 18 it goes downhill quickly. While you van still learn, you will never reeaach complete fluency.
