New tenants.

It seems as though we have new tenants trying to build a home on one side of our kitchen window. I noticed what looked like mud on the top of one side of the window ledge two days ago a scrapped it off. Today we have heard bird noises outside the window all morning and now, looking through the window we see small, black and white colored birds who fly up to this spot, sit for 5 or 10 seconds, and then fly away. It appears there are two or three of them who take turns doing this. Maybe they are carrying mud up here to build a nest. We'll keep an eye on them. Anybody have any idea what these birds are?

Lesson 8 of our Spanish is now using past tense in sentences so we're learning that along with new words. We listen for an hour each day and when I'm busy doing other things Joan listens on her own. I think it would not take years for me to learn if I devoted all my study time to it but I can't do that. Polish is still first on my mind.

  1. Jaskolka are your birds and they are swallows in English. They eat insects and like to nest on the balconies of apartment houses and in barns. Most people don't like them on their balconies because they can be messy with their nests and their poop.

  2. Buenas Dias John.
Thanks. Zbyszek told me about them and I got rid of the nest before they completed it.

  3. Too bad. Germany is predicting a plague of mosquitoes this summer because of the very mild winter. They would have been happy birds.
