No luck today at my early morning coffee cafe in finding someone to speak in Spanish with. So, I saw someone sitting further down the boardwalk and walked towards her. Just as I got close she stood up and walked away. Still determined, I saw another woman sitting with her dog and approached her, introduced myself and asked if she would speak with me. She agreed and I spoke with her for about 20 minutes. At the end she said my Spanish was good and she understood everything I had to say. I thanked her for talking with me and went home. I have to admit, though, some of the words she used I did not know but the main idea of what she said I understood. I need to do this 4-5-6 times a day but it is uncomfortable to do it when Joan is with me and she is just a bystander while I do all the talking. I am sure it is boring for her. It's not a good situation for either of us.
Today is food shopping day. I remembered that I had been saving shopping lists and menu's on this laptop for the last 2 months at home so it has been a little easier making out a shopping list and menu now. We went to Carrefour, the same store we shop in when we are in Poland. We spent 150PLN.
Radek called last night to see how we were doing. He is going to Riga for another Tango event this weekend and was just checking in with us. It's good to have friends.
In the afternoon while Joan watched a movie I went searching for another Spanish conversation. I found a man to talk with me. He was from Uruguay but living in Spain for 17 years. He is a butcher. He said he has no work now because of the off-tourist season but after Easter he will be busy again until Christmas. We talked for 1/2 hour, I thanked him and then went back to the house. That was great. 2 conversations in 1 day.
I also walked around and took some pictures today. Luckily, the church was open so I was able to go inside and photograph it. Not surprising, a picture of the late Jan Pawe艂 II was on the wall.
Widzia艂em wi臋c kogo艣 siedz膮cego dalej wzd艂u偶 deptaku i podszed艂 do niej. Kiedy si臋 zbli偶y艂em, wsta艂a i odesz艂a. Wci膮偶 zdeterminowany, zobaczy艂em inn膮 kobiet臋 siedz膮c膮 z psem i podszed艂 do niej, przedstawi艂 si臋 i zapyta艂, czy b臋dzie ze mn膮 rozmawia膰. Zgodzi艂a si臋 i rozmawia艂em z ni膮 przez oko艂o 20 minut.
Dzisiaj jest dzie艅 zakup贸w 偶ywno艣ci. Poszli艣my do Carrefour, tego samego sklepu, w kt贸rym robimy zakupy, gdy jeste艣my w Polsce. Wydali艣my 150PLN.
Radek zadzwoni艂 wczoraj wieczorem, 偶eby zobaczy膰, jak sobie radzimy. Dobrze jest mie膰 przyjaci贸艂.
Znalaz艂em cz艂owieka, 偶eby ze mn膮 porozmawia膰. On jest rze藕nikiem. Rozmawiali艣my przez p贸艂 godziny, podzi臋kowa艂em mu i wr贸ci艂em do domu. To by艂o 艣wietne. 2 rozmowy w ci膮gu 1 dnia.
Chodzi艂em te偶 i robi艂em dzisiaj zdj臋cia. Na szcz臋艣cie ko艣ci贸艂 by艂 otwarty, wi臋c mog艂em wej艣膰 do 艣rodka i sfotografowa膰 go. Nic dziwnego, 偶e na 艣cianie wisia艂 obraz zmar艂ego Jana Paw艂a II.
