3

3 more days, 3 more shots and then Joan is done sticking needles into her stomach. She took over the duty a week ago. Her poor stomach is black and blue from the shots. She's doing well and anxious to get the cast off.

I went to Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia(National health Fund) office today and signed the contract. The girl was very helpful and I had no problem signing up. Tomorrow I have to go to ZUS(Health Insurance Company) and fill out two applications for Joan and I, pay the bill and then May 1st we will have it. Next week I'll have to call our Medicover office and stop our private insurance as of May 1st.

On the walk back from the office I made a side trip to one of the inside courtyards off S.W. Marcin street to look at the shops and then sat in the park for a while and did some people watching. The rest of the day I spent cleaning the flat and making dinner.

3 więcej dni, 3 więcej strzał i wtedy Joan jest zrobiona tkwiące igły do jej żołądka. Ona przejęła obowiązek tydzień temu. Jej biedny żołądek jest posiniaczony od strzał. Ona robi dobrze i niespokojny by zdjąć rzut.

Poszedłem do Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia(Narodowy Fundusz zdrowia) biura dzisiaj i podpisałem kontrakt. Dziewczyna była bardzo pomocna i nie miałem żadnego problemu zapisującego się. Jutro muszę pójść do ZUS(Ubezpieczenia Zdrowotnego Spółka) i wypełnić dwie aplikacje dla Joan i ja, płacę rachunek i wtedy maj 1. będziemy mieć to.

Reszta dnia spędziłem czyszczenie płaskiego i robiącego obiadu.

    Hi David,
I meant to ask before but forgot until you brought it up in today's blog.

Why does Joan need these daily shots? Is it because of her broken foot? If so, I hadn't heard of any shot therapy that helped heal broken bones.

If you don't mind, please enlighten me.

Regards (and continuing best wishes for Joan's quick and complete recovery),

    Lucie

  2. While I admire and respect the Polish culture, I must point out it's homogenity is due to horrid factors associated with World War II.

  3. Lucie, It's a blood thinner so a clot didn't form during recovery.

    Thanks for the explanation David...

My husband is on blood thinners (coumadin) as a regular treatment -- also for the prevention of blot clots. But he just takes pills.

It's interesting that Joan had to take shots instead of pills...probably because it was a short-term thing... or maybe they needed a more concentrated attack... But I'm not a doctor so I'm just speculating...

Take care and good luck with the National Health Service tomorrow.
    Lucie
