Thinking about our Barcelona trip reminded me about their bycycle paths through the city. They are all marked and in many cases there are little"bumps" between car traffic and the paths to keep bycyclist safer. One thing that is evident is the amount of scooters instead of cars. They have enough cars, to be sure, but scooters are everywhere because of the length of good weather in Spain compared to Poland. If I lived in Spain I would definitely own one. Joan really liked them. She even picked out the one we would have if we lived there, a Suzuki Burgman. She liked the style of it. Gasoline prices in Spain are about the same now as they are in Poznan. Expensive, 5.81 zl per liter.
Another difference that is immediately noticeable is that street corners do not meet at a 90 degree angle. They have a 45 degree angle that allows for parking at the corner of streets and only scooters can be parked on the sidewalk. No cars.
Supper is another difference. It usually doesn't start until 9PM or later and makes for a long night. Many clubs are open until 6AM. Defintely different.
