First they select the area where the sidewalk will go, then the plan is made, approved, contruction crew hired and three years later it begin with the removal of the dirt and grass where the sidewalk will be. After that is done they remove soil down to a level to accomodate the individual stones blocks that will eventually make the sidewalk. A think concrete base is layed and the stones are put on top of it. Sand is put between the stones to prevent them from moving. A machine pushes the stones down so they are all at the same level, making a smooth walking area. In the slideshow you can see the process. The last two pictures are not the school sidewalk because it is not near completion but you can see what sidewalks look like here in Poland.

Dwa ostatnie zdjęcia nie są chodniku szkoły, ponieważ nie jest na ukończeniu, ale można zobaczyć, jakie chodniki wyglądają jak tutaj, w Polsce.
