Frustration!

Today was a day of frustration trying to contact Echostar, our television cable provider. They open at 9:00 but don't answer phone calls/ Finally, at 14:00(2PM), they answered only to be told the English speaker would call me back. An hour later, no returned phone call. I called again and tried speaking Polish to tell of our problem with the missing channels and I was told it was a technical problem and she would connect me to them. Again on hold, I waited and waited for someone to answer. No luck after 30 minutes. Customer service in many firms here is a disaster. Yes, there are some companies that actually provide customer service, but they all should. Without customers, there is no business.

Last night, I made an excellent large avocado, lettuce, tuna salad dinner. Tonight we are having a tomato, avocado, and pasta salad.  The dressing was a mixture of basil, red wine vinegar. olive oil, salt and pepper, and mustard. It was good. Tomorrow I make the ramekin eggs for Joan.

We discovered another great channel on YouTube, SoftTunes. They have videos of many countries with nice music. Joan has been to Austria and Italy today and loves the scenery.

Dziś był frustrujący dzień próbowałem skontaktować się z Echostar, naszym dostawcą telewizji kablowej. Otwierają o 9:00, ale nie odbierają telefonów.  W końcu, o 14:00 (2PM), odebrali tylko po to, by powiedzieć, że oddzwoni do mnie osoba mówiąca po angielsku. Godzinę później, nikt nie oddzwonił. Zadzwoniłem ponownie i próbowałem mówić po polsku, aby powiedzieć o naszym problemie z brakiem kanałów i powiedziano mi, że to problem techniczny, a ona połączy mnie z działem technicznym. Ponownie czekałem i czekałem aż ktoś się odezwie. Po 30 minutach nie udało się. Obsługa klienta w wielu firmach tutaj jest katastrofą. Tak, są pewne firmy, które rzeczywiście zapewniają obsługę klienta, ale wszystkie powinny. Bez klientów, nie ma biznesu.

Wczoraj wieczorem zrobiłem doskonałą obiad z sałatką z awokado, sałatą i tuńczykiem. Dziś wieczorem mamy sałatkę z pomidorów, awokado i makaronu. Dressing był mieszanką bazylii, czerwonego octu winnego, oliwy z oliwek, soli i pieprzu oraz musztardy. To było dobre. Jutro zrobię jajka w kokilkach dla Joan.

Odkryliśmy kolejny świetny kanał na YouTube, SoftTunes. Mają tam filmy z wielu krajów z fajną muzyką. Joan „była” dziś w Austrii i we Włoszech i uwielbia te krajobrazy.

Hoy ha sido un día frustrante en el que he intentado contactar con Echostar, nuestro proveedor de televisión por cable. Abren a las 9:00 de la mañana pero no responden al teléfono.  Finalmente, a las 2 de la tarde (2PM), me contestaron sólo para decirme que me llamaría una persona de habla inglesa. Una hora más tarde, nadie volvió a llamar. Volví a llamar y traté de hablar en polaco para contarles nuestro problema con la falta de canales y me dijeron que era un problema técnico y que me pondrían en contacto con el departamento técnico. Una vez más, esperé y esperé a que alguien se pusiera en contacto conmigo. Después de 30 minutos no hubo suerte. El servicio de atención al cliente en muchas empresas de aquí es un desastre. Sí, hay algunas empresas que realmente prestan servicio al cliente, pero todas deberían hacerlo. Sin clientes, no hay negocio.

Anoche hice una excelente cena de ensalada de aguacate, lechuga y atún. Esta noche hemos comido una ensalada de tomates, aguacate y pasta. El aderezo era una mezcla de albahaca, vinagre de vino tinto, aceite de oliva, sal y pimienta y mostaza. Estuvo bien. Mañana voy a hacer huevos en cacerolas para Joan.

Descubrimos otro gran canal en YouTube, SoftTunes. Allí tienen vídeos de muchos países con música genial. Joan "estuvo" hoy en Austria e Italia y le encantan los paisajes.
