Visitor

We had a visitor last night. Our "adopted" granddaughter came over to see how I was feeling and to tell us she has decided to take a year off from attending university. She is unhappy with the level of Spanish and English classes and bored with the rest of her classes so that was her decision. In Poland and maybe other European universities there is an option called a "gap year"  that allows you to do this. She was able to do it because she has a spinal problem and with a note from her doctor she could do it. She and some friends made a plan to do a lot of travelling during the next five months. Today they are taking a train to Krakow and from there they will hitchhike to Budapest, stay there four days and then go to Croatia. They will return before Christmas and then on the 26th of December go to Austria where she will stay with a friend and work for three months in a factory saving her money. From there she will fly to Chile, stay there for a while and then go to Argentina. In Austria she will be able to perfect her German language and in Chile/Argentina her Spanish language. During this time she will be waiting to see if her application is accepted at the University of Southern Florida. If it is she will start university next year in Florida.  It is quite an ambitious plan and we hope it all goes well for her. This last year has been very rough for her and she deserves a break in life.

Tomorrow I take my first adventure outside after being laid up for a week. I was suppose to have my last Hepatitis B shot last Monday but couldn't move so I need to have it done.

Mieliśmy gości w nocy. Nasze "przyjęte" wnuczka przyszła zobaczyć jak się czuję i powiedzieć nam, że zdecydowała się wziąć rok wolnego od studiując. Ona jest zadowolona z poziomu klas hiszpańskich i angielskich i znudzony z resztą swoich klasach, tak aby była jej decyzja. W Polsce i być może innych europejskich uczelni jest opcja o nazwie "rok przerwy", która pozwala to zrobić. Była w stanie to zrobić, ponieważ ona ma problem i kręgosłupa z dopiskiem od swojego lekarza mogła zrobić. Ona i niektórzy przyjaciele wykonany plan zrobić wiele podróży w ciągu najbliższych pięciu miesięcy. Dziś są one biorąc pociąg do Krakowa, a stamtąd będą autostopem do Budapesztu, tam cztery dni, a następnie udać się do Chorwacji. Wrócą przed świętami Bożego Narodzenia, a potem na 26 grudnia udać się do Austrii, gdzie będzie pobyt z przyjacielem i pracy przez trzy miesiące w fabryce oszczędności swoje pieniądze. Stamtąd poleciała do Chile, tam na chwilę, a następnie przejść do Argentyny. W Austrii będzie mogła doskonalić swój język niemiecki oraz w Chile / Argentyna jej języka hiszpańskiego. W tym czasie ona będzie czekać, aby zobaczyć, czy jej wniosek zostanie przyjęty na Uniwersytecie Południowej Florydy. Jeśli jest ona rozpocząć w przyszłym roku uniwersytet na Florydzie. Jest to dość ambitny plan i mamy nadzieję, że wszystko pójdzie dobrze dla niej. Ten ostatni rok był bardzo szorstki dla niej, a ona zasługuje na przerwę w życiu.

Jutro biorę moją pierwszą przygodę na zewnątrz po położył się na tydzień. Ja przypuszczam, że moje ostatnie zapalenie wątroby typu B strzał w poniedziałek, ale nie mógł się ruszyć, więc muszę mieć to zrobione.
