FTN, Browar and Doctor.

Somehow my Family Tree Maker program disappeared when I had to restore my laptop to  previous point. Thanks to help from FTM's Live Chat, I was able to download it again but it did not have the thumbnail pictures of each individual I have a picture for. Also the media files were missing, things like documents, proof of research, etc.  This means I have to do them all over again. I can think of better ways to spend my time.

We went to Empik in Stary Browar because I wanted to buy two magazines, English Matters and Español, Si gracias. Both help with learning Polish as well as Spanish. I like them because they have MP3 files for some of the stories that helps me with pronunciation. The Spanish ones are too fast so I put them on my phone in a application that allows you to slow down the voice. We drove up Długa street toward Browar and I was amazed at the two new buildings where the old ones were taken down. Naturally we stopped in Sowa's for coffee and pastries.

We had the good news that our neurologist will still be seeing patients in Poznań. He has a new position in a hospital 1 1/2 hours north of here and we thought we would have to find a new doctor but he said he would be in Poznań every other week.

Jakimś sposobem mój program Family Tree Maker (umożliwiający tworzenie drzewa genealogicznego) zniknął, kiedy musiałem przywrócić mój laptop do poprzedniego stanu.

Poszliśmy do Empiku w Starym Browarze, ponieważ chciałem kupić dwa magazyny: English Matters i Español, Si gracias.

Sorry you had trouble with your family tree research. We have a love/hate relationship with our computers too. Well now I know how you will be spending your winter. Hope you get it all restored. Tell Joan the picture of her at top of your blog is great. She looks happy and healthy. Forgot to respond to your question about Harvey. We had street flooding and it came up into the front yard but thank God it didn’t make it past our flowerbed in front of house. Very lucky but others are still trying to get their homes cleaned out and repaired. Many others just walked away from their homes because of the extreme damage. With the Astros going to the World Series it has changed the mood for at least a little while.

  2. Hi Linda, I'm happy to hear you escaped Harvey without any damage. Yes, Joan is happy and healthy and we are both grateful. I'll have the tree restored before winter sets in and, hopefully, by that time we will be in Spain. That's the plan anyway for January and February. Amusing how the mood of a city can change just because a sports team is going for a championship. We had 6 years of that with Jordan and the Bulls. It was great.
