2018

It's the first 5:45 of the new year in Whoville. The majority of the party people have gone home or stayed where they were partying. Joan and I stayed home and watched the fireworks from our balcony. They lasted about 20 minutes. We could have watched the pre-celebrations on TV but instead we watched an old movie.

We've lived another year and that's worth celebrating. We're not "perfectly" healthy but have no life threatening problems either. We look forward to this new year with enthusiasm for travel and continued learning. I another wee we will take down the tree and prepare for departure. We will visit one new county this but not sure which one yet. Bulgaria, Romania, Montenegro, Ireland or Macedonia. Of course, there will be more travels inside of Poland to new places also.

It's now 13:30 and the first family news I received was not good. Another cousin here in Poland has died, Janek Kaźmierczak, from Grudziadz. He was 79, 6 years older than me. We first went to meet him and his family in 2004 and 3 times after that when we moved here. In-between we kept in touch via letters or cards. I was happy when he joined FB last year.  He was the last of 11 children of my grandfather's youngest brother, Stanisław.

To pierwszy 5:45 nowego roku w Whoville. Większość imprezowiczów poszła do domu lub pozostała tam, gdzie bawili się. Joan i ja zostaliśmy w domu i oglądaliśmy fajerwerki z naszego balkonu. Trwały około 20 minut. Mogliśmy oglądać pre-celebracje w telewizji, ale zamiast tego obejrzeliśmy stary film.

Przeżyliśmy kolejny rok i to jest warte świętowania. Nie jesteśmy "doskonale" zdrowi, ale nie mamy też problemów z zagrażającymi życiu. Z niecierpliwością czekamy na ten nowy rok na podróże i kontynuację nauki. Kolejny zajmiemy drzewo i przygotujemy się do wyjazdu. Odwiedzimy jedno nowe hrabstwo, ale nie wiemy, który jeszcze. Bułgaria, Rumunia, Czarnogóra, Irlandia lub Macedonia. Oczywiście w Polsce będzie więcej podróży do nowych miejsc.

Teraz jest 13:30, a pierwsze rodzinne wiadomości, które otrzymałem, nie były dobre. Zmarł inny kuzyn tutaj w Polsce, Janek Kaźmierczak z Grudziądza. Był 79, 6 lat starszy ode mnie. Po raz pierwszy poszliśmy spotkać się z nim i jego rodziną w 2004 roku i 3 razy po tym, jak się tu przeprowadziliśmy. W międzyczasie utrzymywaliśmy kontakt za pomocą listów lub kart. Byłem szczęśliwy, kiedy dołączył do FB w zeszłym roku. Był ostatnim z 11 dzieci najmłodszego brata mojego dziadka, Stanisława.
