E.Gallegos, in 3 languages

Today I was out of bed at 8:00 and went for a walk to the beach. I waited until about 9:30 and then made my way to E. Gallegos for a very good experience.

E. Gallegos is Enrique Gallegos, a young man who carries on his fathers tradition of barbering. It is a  family business with Enrique, his sister and his cousin involved. My haircut was done by Enrique but my eyebrows, moustache and beard were trimmed by his cousin and she shaved the hair from my neck. It was my first experience with a straight razor.

This shop is like stepping back in time. Look at the pictures of the barber chairs, I haven't seen those since the 1950's. Enrique told me he bought them in England. Even the flooring is beautiful in this shop with it's parquet design. I am sure that if this shop was in a big city there would be a waiting list to get a haircut or shave and prices would be much higher. Thankfully, I found it here in Santiago. With another month and an half before we have to leave I will have the opportunity to get another haircut, this time shorter. I can highly recommend this shop should you ever stay in Santiago de la Ribera or close by.

Dzisiaj  o ósmej rano byłem już poza łóżkiem i poszedłem na spacer na plażę. Czekałem do około 9:30, a następnie udałem się do E. Gallegos, gdzie odnisłem bardzo dobre wrażenia.

E. Gallegos to Enrique Gallegos, młody człowiek, który kontynuuje  ojcowską tradycję fryzjerstwa. Jest to firma rodzinna, w którą zaangażowany jest Enrique, jego siostra i kuzyn. Moja strzyżenie zostało wykonane przez Enrique,  brwi, wąsy i broda zostały przycięte przez kuzyna, a siostra ogoliła włosy z mojej szyi. To było moje pierwsze doświadczenie z brzytwą.

Ten sklep przypomina cofanie się w czasie. Spójrz na zdjęcia krzeseł fryzjerskich, których nie widziałem od lat pięćdziesiątych. Enrique powiedział mi, że kupił je w Anglii. Nawet podłoga z parkietem jest piękna w tym sklepie. Jestem pewien, że gdyby ten sklep był w dużym mieście, czekałaby lista oczekujących na fryzjera lub golenie, a ceny byłyby znacznie wyższe. Na szczęście znalazłem to tutaj w Santiago. Za półtora miesiąca, zanim będziemy musieli wyjechać, będę miał szansę na kolejne strzyżenie, tym razem krótsze. Jeśli kiedykolwiek będziesz w Santiago de la Ribera lub w pobliżu, mogę gorąco polecić ten sklep.

Hoy estaba fuera de la cama a las 8:00 y fui a caminar a la playa. Esperé hasta alrededor de las 9:30 y luego me dirigí a E. Gallegos para una muy buena experiencia.

E. Gallegos es Enrique Gallegos, un joven que continúa la tradición de barbero de su padre. Es un negocio familiar con Enrique, su hermana y su primo involucrados. Mi corte de pelo fue hecho por Enrique, pero mis cejas, bigote y barba fueron recortados por su primo y ella se afeitó el pelo de mi cuello. Fue mi primera experiencia con una navaja de afeitar.

Esta tienda es como retroceder en el tiempo. Mira las fotos de las sillas de barbero, no las he visto desde la década de 1950. Enrique me dijo que los había comprado en Inglaterra. Incluso el piso es hermoso en esta tienda con su diseño de parquet. Estoy seguro de que si esta tienda estuviera en una gran ciudad, habría una lista de espera para cortarse el pelo o afeitarse, y los precios serían mucho más altos. Afortunadamente, lo encontré aquí en Santiago. Con otro mes y medio antes de que nos tengamos que ir, tendré la oportunidad de obtener otro corte de pelo, esta vez más corto. Recomiendo encarecidamente esta tienda si alguna vez te quedas en Santiago de la Ribera o cerca.
