Tree.

Saturday and our first day of a light snowfall enough to cover the ground. Only 21 days to Christmas. It's time to start thinking about the Christmas tree. 

Maybe I have mentioned it before but the TV series, All Creatures Big and Small is really worth watching in this age of violence. There is none in this series. The scenery is also good to look at. There are 2 seasons so far and we are in the middle of the second season that has only 6 episodes. We will finish it tonight.

Thinking about Spain again, I checked the situation there with Covid-19. My friend said the numbers are going up in some areas and restrictions are being reimposed but 85% of the population is vaccinated. The reason for the high percentage is because the government follows science and the people trust the government, in this case. All officials are vaccinated and they promote masking, social distancing, and vaccinations. Public officials just never put any of this into doubt, and this has been key not just in vaccines, but getting people to keep their masks. Maybe, if other governments were as wise, this pandemic would be under control.

Sobota i nasz pierwszy dzień z  lekkimp opadem śniegu wystarczającum do przykrycia ziemi. Już tylko 21 dni do Świąt Bożego Narodzenia. Czas zacząć myśleć o choince. 

Może już kiedyś o tym wspominałem, ale serial "Wszystkie stworzenia duże i małe" jest naprawdę wart obejrzenia w dobie przemocy. W tym serialu nie ma jej wcale. Sceneria jest również miła do oglądania. Do tej pory są 2 sezony, a my jesteśmy w połowie drugiego, który ma tylko 6 odcinków. Skończymy go dziś wieczorem. 

Myśląc znowu o Hiszpanii, sprawdziłem jak wygląda sytuacja z Covid-19. Mój przyjaciel powiedział, że liczba przypadkow wzrasta w niektórych rejonach kraju i ponownie są  nakładane ograniczenia, ale 85% populacji jest zaszczepiona. Powodem tak wysokiego odsetka jest to, że rząd stosuje się do badań naukowych, a ludzie ufają rządowi w tym przypadku. Wszyscy urzędnicy są zaszczepieni i promują nakładanie masek, utrzymywanie dystansu i szczepienia. Urzędnicy państwowi po prostu nigdy nie poddają tego w wątpliwość, a to było kluczowe nie tylko w szczepioniu ale także w zachęcaniu ludzi do nakładania masek. Być może, gdyby inne rządy były równie mądre, ta pandemia byłaby pod kontrolą.

Tal vez lo he mencionado antes, pero la serie de televisión, All Creatures Big and Small (Todas las criaturas grandes y pequeñas) es realmente digna de ver en esta época de violencia. No hay ninguna en esta serie. El paisaje también es bueno para ver. Hay 2 temporadas hasta ahora y estamos en la mitad de la segunda temporada que tiene sólo 6 episodios. La terminaremos esta noche.

Pensando en España de nuevo, he comprobado la situación allí con Covid-19. Mi amigo me dijo que las cifras están subiendo en algunas zonas y que se están volviendo a imponer restricciones, pero que el 85% de la población está vacunada. La razón del alto porcentaje es porque el gobierno sigue la ciencia y la gente confía en el gobierno, en este caso. Todos los funcionarios están vacunados y promueven el enmascaramiento, el distanciamiento social y las vacunas. Los funcionarios no ponen nunca en duda nada de esto, y esto ha sido clave no sólo en las vacunas, sino en conseguir que la gente mantenga sus máscaras. Tal vez, si otros gobiernos fueran tan sabios, esta pandemia estaría bajo control.
