We got up at 8:30AM, had breakfast, dressed warm and took bus #63 to Rondo Kamponiera. From there we walked the two blocks to the trade center where the climate conference and exhibition was. We went through the first entrance, passed the entrance free gate and went into the first exhibition hall for wind power. Inside was an area for people to sit, talk and use their laptops. Lots of laptops. There was a picture display of windmill farms being used in different countries already, including Poland. the most interesting was the one off the coast of England. The windmills are sticking out of the water. It says the winds are stronger off land and give more energy than normal.We left that hall and went to another that energy efficent transportation vehicles. Most interesting there was the new taxi system being built in Opole and Rzeszow, Poland. It will operate above the normal traffic and looks more like a pod than a car.
One thing that really amazed me is that everyone was speaking English. I asked one of the attendents "Where are the Polish people"? She replied in perfect English and switched to Polish to say that everyone there was speaking in English, regardless of their nationality.
One of the displays was extremely nice. It is based on the Bob Dylan song "Hard Rains Gonna Fall". http://www.hardrainproject.com/home.htm It's the lyrics of his famous song combined with pictures.
We spent about three hours, collected a lot of informational material and then walked back to the bus stop where #63 took us back home.
Later that day we had to go to Stary Browar and I took the pictures of the decorations and Santa.
