Heating

We have been having a little problem with the heating system in our flat now that the temperature is 0 celsius and below. We set the thermostat to 25 but instead of the place getting warmer it is getting colder as the outside gets colder. I read the instruction manual for the system, did everything it said to do but it had no effect. The thermostat is connected directly into the water heater in the kitchen so I thought the problem might be there. I called friend Zbyszek and gave him the phone number to the company that makes our system, Euroster, located south of us in Krobia. He called them today and the service man said that the boiler temperature should be adjusted upward from 50c to 70c or more and that should make the difference in heating.

About two hours ago I raised the boiler temperature 50c to 70c and so far the house temperature has risen about .5 from 22.0 to 22.5. I hoping it is just time for the extra heat coming into the house to continue raising the temperature. 25c is too high but if it does reach that then I can adjust the water temperature downward.

We lived for some years in Upper Michigan in a house that was not so well heated so we know what it is like to live in a cold house and I'm not going through that again.

Our idea for Wigilia has not worked out so Joan and I will be spending it at home as well as Christmas Day.
