So, comparing prices on Lot Airlines I saved on Monday night to last night's Crazy Day "sale" day, I found NO difference in price. In fact, the flight was 80 zl more. I went back to Cheap Flights and examined their cheaper offer only to find that it did not include the cost of luggage. Adding that cost it was the same as Lot. Now the tickets are bought, flying from Poznań to Warsaw and then to Łwów, returning in the reverse direction.

We met with Zbyszek yesterday at Sowa's and he agreed that it was a better place to meet in the future so it looks like our long tradition of Kandulski meetings has come to an end. Time to start a new one. In November he will fly to Bulgaria to celebrate the 1st birthday of his grandson.

It seems that "Orange Heads" only plan that has not failed is the one to make the dollar weaker. On June 21st is was worth 3,81 in Polish zloty but today, 3 months later, it is only worth 3.54. For us that is not a good thing.

It seems I was right in my estimate of how long the balcony repair will take, the repairman finished today. Now we wait for a heavy rainfall to see if it is fixed.

Poland is the third worst in the EU in terms of road safety, according to the country’s central audit office.

Safety is lower only in Romania and Bulgaria, according to the Supreme Audit Office, Poland’s top independent state audit body.

Polish motorways and dual carriageways are particularly dangerous.

According to the Supreme Audit Office, one reason is that traffic is much more intense on motorways than on smaller roads.

The office said that the number of accidents and victims on Polish motorways and dual carriageways per 1,000 km was five times higher last year than on public roads as a whole.

Porównując cenę biletu  polskiego przewoźnika LOT, którą zapisałem w poniedziałek  z ceną z „szalonej środy”, nie stwierdziłem żadnej różnicy. W rzeczywistości lot był droższy o 80 zł. Wróciłem do tanich lotów i przeanalizowałem tańszą ofertę, aby stwierdzić, że nie uwzględniono kosztu bagażu. Dodanie tego kosztu wyrównało koszty z ceną LOT. Bilety są kupione, lecimy z Poznania do Warszawy, a następnie do Lwowa, wracamy tą samą trasą.

Wczoraj spotkaliśmy się ze Zbyszkiem u  Sowy i zgodził się, że to jest lepsze miejsce na spotkanie w przyszłości, więc wygląda na to, że nasze długie tradycje spotkań u Kandulskich się skończyły. Czas rozpocząć nowy rozdział. Zbyszek w listopadzie leci do Bułgarii, aby uczcić pierwsze urodziny swojego wnuka.

Zdaniem centralnego biura kontroli, Polska jest trzecim najgorszych krajem w UE pod względem bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego.

Bezpieczeństwo jest niższe tylko w Rumunii i Bułgarii, według Najwyższej Izby Kontroli, niezależnego  organu kontroli w Polsce.

Szczególnie niebezpieczne są polskie autostrady i drogi szybkiego ruchu.

Zdaniem Najwyższej Izby Kontroli, jednym z powodów jest to, że ruch jest znacznie bardziej intensywny na autostradach niż na mniejszych drogach.

Według biura liczba wypadków i ofiar na polskich autostradach i drogach szybkiego ruchu na 1000 km była pięciokrotnie wyższa niż w przypadku dróg publicznych jako całości.
