 The value of research. Every 3 months I buy medicines for Joan and me. It averages about 300PLN(79U.S.). In Poland. there are many medicines that are free to people over 75 years old. I spent minutes checking that list and found 5 that we use. I sent an email to the clinic downstairs where our family doctor is asking her for a new prescription and informing her about those 5 medicines. The system now in Poland is that a doctor writes a prescription to a central internet server, a number is given to it and then I get an email with the number to take to our local Apteka. At the Apteka, the pharmacist puts the number and my or Joan's pesel number into the system and it shows what was prescribed. 

I did that today and really liked the result of my research. What normally costed 300PLN now cost 68PLN. That is quite a reduction in price because of the free medicines. Another good thing is that the prescription is good for 1 year.

We had our annual problem with the heating element in our flat. This time it was no hot water in the kitchen or bathroom. I called the repairman, he came at 13:00, took the unit apart, and cleaned everything. Problem solved, cost 120PLN(36U.S.). He also said the unit should be replaced because it is 20 years old. Last week, the man who checks air quality in our flat said the aluminum pipe leading from the unit to the exhaust pipe chimney has leaks in it and should be replaced.

Spędziłem kilka minut sprawdzając tę ​​listę i znalazłem 5, z których korzystamy. Problem rozwiązany, koszt 120PLN (36U.S.). Powiedział też, że jednostka powinna zostać wymieniona, ponieważ ma 20 lat. W zeszłym tygodniu człowiek sprawdzający jakość powietrza w naszym mieszkaniu powiedział, że aluminiowa rura prowadząca z urządzenia do komina rury wydechowej jest nieszczelna i należy ją wymienić.
