Oil

 Today was the day to have my oil changes in the car. I made an appointment last Friday for today at 9:00. On time. my car as taken in. 1 hour later and still no car returned. 1 1/2 hours and still no car. I asked where was my car and why isn't it finished. I was told they ordered the wrong oil filter and they were waiting for it to be delivered. Finally at 11:15 the car was returned. It's the last time I will go to that facility.

Joan had her meeting with the neurologist today and he spent 1 1/2 hours examining her, asking her various questions to check her cognitive skills and could observe  the decline since our last visit. He asked her to name 5 fruits and 5 vegetables and she could only name two for each category. He asked if she could walk and she said yes but she couldn't raise up out of the wheelchair. He said he would like to reduce the medications she takes because they also affect the cognitive system. However, concerned about the two recent seizures, he wouldn't do that. I told him that was my concern about lowering the meds. Before our next visit, she will have to have another MRI,EG, and blood test. On the bright side, he didn't see any reason she couldn't fly in a plane.

 Dziś był dzień, kiedy olej w samochodzie miał być wymieniony. Umówiłem się w zeszły piątek na dziś na 9:00. Bylem punktualny. Mój samochód został zabrany. Po 1 godzinie jeszcze nie wrócił . 1 1/2 godziny i nadal go nie było. Zapytałem, gdzie jest i dlaczego wymiana nie jest zakończona. Powiedziano mi, że zamówili zły filtr oleju i czekali na jego dostarczenie. Wreszcie o 11:15 samochód został zwrócony. To jest ostatni raz, kiedy pójdę do tego serwisu.

Joan miała dzisiaj spotkanie z neurologiem, który przez półtorej godziny badał ją, zadając różne pytania, aby sprawdzić jej zdolności poznawcze i zaobserwować ich obniżkę od naszej ostatniej wizyty. Poprosił ją o wymienienie 5 owoców i 5 warzyw, a ona potrafiła wymienić tylko po dwa z każdej kategorii. Zapytał, czy może chodzić, a ona odpowiedziała, że tak, ale nie może podnieść się z wózka inwalidzkiego. Powiedział, że chciałby zmniejszyć ilość przyjmowanych przez nią leków, ponieważ wpływają one również na system poznawczy. Jednak, zaniepokojony dwoma ostatnimi atakami, nie chciałby tego zrobić. Powiedziałem mu, że to jest moja obawą jest zmniejszenie leków. Przed naszą następną wizytą, będzie musiała mieć MRI, EG i badanie krwi. Z drugiej, pozytywnej strony, on nie widział żadnego powodu, by nie mogła lecieć samolotem.

Joan tuvo su reunión con el neurólogo hoy y él pasó 1 hora y media examinándola, haciéndole varias preguntas para comprobar sus habilidades cognitivas y pudo observar el declive desde nuestra última visita. Le pidió que nombrara 5 frutas y 5 verduras y sólo pudo nombrar dos de cada categoría. Le preguntó si podía caminar y ella dijo que sí, pero que no podía levantarse de la silla de ruedas. Dijo que le gustaría reducir los medicamentos que toma porque también afectan al sistema cognitivo. Sin embargo, preocupado por las dos convulsiones recientes, no quiso hacerlo. Le dije que eso era lo que me preocupaba de reducir los medicamentos. Antes de nuestra próxima visita, tendrá que someterse a otra resonancia magnética, una ecografía y un análisis de sangre. El lado bueno es que no vio ninguna razón por la que no pudiera volar en un avión.
