Windows.

The "window specialist" came yesterday. The problem is the old wooden windows have locks to hold the two panes together but they are disintegrating and letting water into the flat when it rains hard.  The biggest window will not even stay shut without using duct tape. The owner of the flat said they would send someone to us and I thought he meant to replace locks, not measure them. For sure, they all need to be replaced because we lose heat in the winter. It will be an investment but it can be recovered when the rent is raised next year. We have lived here for 12 years in this flat. It is an excellent location with the most necessary stores nearby and a medical clinic on the main floor. Now there are many new flats in the two fields that were empty when we moved here. We have no choice but to move, something we do not really want to do. 

Wczoraj przyszedł "specjalista od okien". Problem polega na tym, że stare drewniane okna mają zamki, które trzymają dwie szyby razem, ale one się rozpadają i wpuszczają wodę do mieszkania, kiedy pada mocny deszcz.  Największe okno nie daje się nawet zamknąć bez użycia taśmy klejącej. Właściciel mieszkania powiedział, że wyśle kogoś do nas, a ja myślałem, że ma na myśli wymianę zamków, a nie ich pomiar. Na pewno trzeba je wszystkie wymienić, bo zimą tracimy ciepło. To będzie inwestycja, ale może się zwrócić, gdy w przyszłym roku podniesiemy czynsz. Mieszkamy tu od 12 lat w tym mieszkaniu. Jest to doskonała lokalizacja z najpotrzebniejszymi sklepami w pobliżu i przychodnią lekarską na głównym piętrze. Teraz jest wiele nowych mieszkań na dwóch polach, które były puste, kiedy się tu wprowadziliśmy. Nie mamy wyboru i musimy się przeprowadzić, czego tak naprawdę nie chcemy robić.

El problema es que las viejas ventanas de madera tienen cerraduras para mantener unidos los dos cristales, pero se están desintegrando y dejando entrar agua al piso cuando llueve mucho. La ventana más grande ni siquiera permanecerá cerrada sin usar cinta adhesiva. El dueño del piso dijo que nos enviarían a alguien y pensé que se refería a reemplazar las cerraduras, no a medirlas. Seguro, todos necesitan ser reemplazados porque perdemos calor en el invierno. Será una inversión pero se puede recuperar cuando se suba el alquiler el próximo año. Hemos vivido aquí durante 12 años en este piso. Es una excelente ubicación con las tiendas más necesarias cerca y una clínica médica en el piso principal. Ahora hay muchos pisos nuevos en los dos campos que estaban vacíos cuando nos mudamos aquí. No tenemos más remedio que movernos, algo que realmente no queremos hacer.
