So much food.

As mentioned before, our neighbor is fantastic. Today. Marek and his daughter brought us pork cutlets, potatoes with gravy, beef rollups, beets, and chicken soup for dinner. It's enough for the next three days. I am so grateful. It saves me more time for packing. Our friends, Michal and Gosia, brought us ten smaller boxes for packing. The big boxes I ordered are just too big for dishes and kitchen stuff. The boxes would be too heavy if I filled them.

Even with clouds, it was a nice autumn day, too nice to just stay at home. Joan hasn't been outside all week so I helped her down the stairs and took her for what may be our last visit this year to the Empik cafe. We sat for two hours with our coffee and watched the little children trying to run away from their parents. It looks like they could fall over with every step but they just keep on going. Next week at this time we will be in our new flat and the stairs will just be a memory. For that reason alone I am happy I rented the new flat. Coming and going will not put stress on the both of us. Just wheelcahire to the elevator, elevator to underground parking, and then Joan into the car.

Talking with the owners of our current flat, they agreed we will only have to pay the rent up to the 15th of October when we will be completely moved.

Jak już wspomniałem, nasz sąsiad jest fantastyczny. Dzisiaj. Marek i jego córka przywieźli nam na obiad kotlety schabowe, ziemniaki ze skwarkami, roladki wołowe, buraczki i rosół. Wystarczy na trzy dni. Jestem bardzo wdzięczny. Oszczędza mi to więcej czasu na pakowanie. Nasi przyjaciele, Michał i Gosia, przywieźli nam dziesięć mniejszych pudełek do pakowania. Duże pudła, które zamówiłam są po prostu za duże na naczynia i rzeczy kuchenne. Byłyby zbyt ciężkie, gdybym je wypełniła.

Nawet z chmurami, to był ładny jesienny dzień, zbyt ładny, żeby zostać w domu. Joan nie była na zewnątrz przez cały tydzień, więc pomogłem jej zejść po schodach i zabrałem ją na być może ostatnią w tym roku wizytę w kawiarni Empik. Siedzieliśmy dwie godziny przy kawie i obserwowaliśmy małe dzieci, które próbowały uciec od swoich rodziców. Wygląda na to, że z każdym krokiem mogą się przewrócić, ale one po prostu idą dalej. Za tydzień o tej porze będziemy już w naszym nowym mieszkaniu, a schody będą tylko wspomnieniem. Już choćby z tego powodu cieszę się, że wynajęłam to nowe mieszkanie. Como ya hemos dicho, nuestro vecino es fantástico. Hoy. Marek y su hija nos han traído chuletas de cerdo, patatas con salsa, rollitos de ternera, remolacha y sopa de pollo para cenar. Es suficiente para los próximos tres días. Estoy muy agradecida. Me ahorra más tiempo para hacer la maleta. Nuestros amigos, Michal y Gosia, nos han traído diez cajas más pequeñas para empacar. Las cajas grandes que pedí son demasiado grandes para la vajilla y las cosas de la cocina. Las cajas serían demasiado pesadas si las llenara.

Incluso con nubes, era un bonito día de otoño, demasiado agradable para quedarse en casa. Joan no ha salido en toda la semana, así que la ayudé a bajar las escaleras y la llevé a la que puede ser nuestra última visita de este año a la cafetería Empik. Nos sentamos durante dos horas con nuestro café y observamos a los niños pequeños que intentan huir de sus padres. Parece que podrían caerse a cada paso, pero siguen adelante. La semana que viene a esta hora estaremos en nuestro nuevo piso y las escaleras serán sólo un recuerdo. Sólo por eso me alegro de haber alquilado el nuevo piso.
