In America, December 7th, 1941 and September 11, 2001, are the days that are remembered by my generation.

In Poland..THE GERMAN INVASION OF POLAND – 82 YEARS AGO TODAY || SEPTEMBER 1, 1939 - SEPTEMBER 1, 2021

When I lived in America I knew the date, that was all. Living in Poland for the last 14 years I have had the opportunity to talk with relatives who remember it and have lived through it. Yes, I saw movies about it in my younger years but never comprehended the immense tragedy suffered by Polish people. I do now.

It also makes me sad to know of the complicity of America in signing the Yalta Treaty along with Great Britain and the Soviet Union to give the Soviet Union control over Poland for the next 44 years.

W Polsce...NIEMIECKA INWAZJA NA POLSKĘ - 82 LATA TEMU || 1 WRZEŚNIA 1939 - 1 WRZEŚNIA 2021 Kiedy mieszkałem w Ameryce, znałem tę datę, to wszystko. Mieszkając w Polsce przez ostatnie 14 lat miałem okazję rozmawiać z krewnymi, którzy to pamiętają i przeżyli. Tak, widziałem filmy o tym w moich młodszych latach, ale nigdy nie rozumiałem ogromnej tragedii, jaka spotkała Polaków. Teraz już tak. Zasmuca mnie również świadomość współudziału Ameryki w podpisaniu Traktatu Jałtańskiego wraz z Wielką Brytanią i Związkiem Radzieckim, który dał Związkowi Radzieckiemu kontrolę nad Polską na następne 44 lata.

LA INVASIÓN ALEMANA DE POLONIA - HACE 82 AÑOS || 1 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 1939 - 1 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 2021 Cuando vivía en Estados Unidos sabía la fecha, eso era todo. Viviendo en Polonia desde hace 14 años he tenido la oportunidad de hablar con familiares que lo recuerdan y lo han vivido. Sí, vi películas sobre ello en mis años de juventud, pero nunca comprendí la inmensa tragedia que sufrieron los polacos. Ahora sí lo entiendo. También me entristece saber de la complicidad de Estados Unidos en la firma del Tratado de Yalta junto con Gran Bretaña y la Unión Soviética para dar a la Unión Soviética el control sobre Polonia durante los siguientes 44 años.
