Across the street from us is a car rental place so I checked out the prices for renting the cheapest car, an Opel Corsa. The cheapest car is over twice what a rental costs in the U.S. About $70 a day so a 3 day rental would be about $210....500zl..plus gas which is about $7 a gallon. Maybe we'll just hitchhike:-)

Today was flat cleaning day. I do the dusting, mopping the floors, putting things back in place and Joan washes the floors, the bathroom and kitchen. She does the cooking and laundry and I do the dishes. We make the bed and do the shopping together. Amazing how much dust collects in a week!

We went out for a walk after we were done. It's colder today but the sun was out so it wasn't too bad. Of course, we have scarves, hats, gloves and heavy coats. Last night we went out for a walk to see if there were many houses with Christmas lights. There aren't many, maybe 2% of all the houses had them. So different than America where Christmas lights are everywhere. Must be the cost of electricity and lack of income that makes the difference. Christmas is a very big event here so I'm sure there would be many lights if they were affordable. But I think in Poland it is still a sacred holiday whereas in America it is more a commercial holiday.

Najtańszy samochód jest ponad dwa razy czym czynszu koszty w Stanach Zjednoczonych Około $70 dzień tak 3 czynsz dnia byłby o $210....500zl..plus gazie, który jest około $7 galon. Być może właśnie będziemy wędrować autostopem:-)

Dzisiaj był płaski czyszczący dzień. Robię kurzenie, wycierając podłogi, kładąc z powrotem rzeczy na miejscu i Joan myje podłogi, łazienkę i kuchnię. Ona robi gotowanie i pralnię i robię naczynia. Ścielemy łóżko i robimy sprawunki razem. Zdumienie ile proch zbiera się za tydzień!

Wyszliśmy dla spaceru gdy byliśmy zrobieni. To jest zimniejsze dzisiaj ale słońce było poza tak to nie było niefortunnie. Oczywiście, mamy szale, kapelusze, rękawiczki i ciężkie płaszcze. Ubiegłej nocy wyszliśmy dla spaceru by zobaczyć jeżeli tam byli dużo domów ze światłami Bożym Narodzeniem. Nie są wiele, być może 2% z wszystkich domów miały ich. Tak różny niż Ameryka gdzie światła Boże Narodzenie są wszędzie. Musi być koszt elektryczności i braku dochodu, który robi różnicę. Boże Narodzenie jest bardzo duże zdarzenie tutaj tak jestem pewny tam byłbym wieloma światłami gdyby oni byli tacy na którego stać. Ale myślę w Polsce to jest ciche święty urlop podczas gdy w Ameryce to jest więcej handlowy urlop.
