Good and sad news.

I put four of my favorite YouTube Christmas videos on thesite to add a little music if you want while you read. Just click on the arrow. The one by John Denver is part of a series he did with the Muppets and I like the message. The other is still the best "pop" singing voice, Frank Sinatra. The third and fourth videos are classic Polish Christmas carol.

I was given a website to look at for car rentals. It was given to me by Zenon, a man who does family research as a business. It's not a chain car rental and it turns out to be the cheapest. We can rent a car for four days for 330 zl ($132) so if we don't get the Pesel soon that's what we'll do. We're not going to miss visiting relatives at this special time.

Good news on the dollar value. It's going up again and the "experts" say it will continue. A reader of the blog, Carol, told me she heard this news on CNBC and I've read the same in other publications.

A sad note today, the mother of our friend Agnieszka Fahland passed away today. Agnieszka and her husband John came to Poland to be with her during her illness. It was good she had this time with her mother.

We did our usual thing today, study, study, study. You would think that with all the studying we do we should be speaking Polish with no problem but, unfortunately, that's not the case. I am continuously amazed at the cousins here who speak two and three languages. I wish there was a "chip" I could just implant in my brain, like in the movie "The Matrix", and I could speak in Polish :-) But no, it's a long process learning and we have a ways to go.

I saw a few more decorated Christmas trees today. In front of our flat complex we have a tree now. I thought about buying a lot of decorations but then wondered if they have after Christmas sales like they do in the States where all Christmas items are sold at 50% off. I'll have to find out about that.

Nie mamy chybić odwiedzania krewnych w tym specjalnym czasie.

Dobra wiadomość na wartości dolara. To idzie na górę znowu i "eksperci" mówią, że to będzie trwać. Czytelnik blog, Carol, powiedział mi ona usłyszała te wiadomości na CNBC i przeczytałem to samo w innych publikacjach.

Smutna notatka dzisiaj, matka naszego przyjaciela Agnieszka Fahland umarła dzisiaj. Agnieszka i jej męża John przyjechał do Polski by być z nią podczas jej choroby. To było dobre ona miała tym razem z jej matką.

Zrobiliśmy naszą zwykłą rzecz dzisiaj, studiujemy, studiujemy, studiujemy. Pomyślałbyś, że z całym studiowaniem powinniśmy mówić po polsku z żadnym problemem ale, niestety, który nie przedstawia się tak. Zobaczyłem kilka więcej dekorowanych choinek dzisiaj. Przed naszym płaskim kompleksem mamy drzewo teraz. Pomyślałem dookoła kupowanie dużo ozdób ale wówczas zdumiały się jeżeli oni mają po sprzedaży Bożym Narodzeniu jak oni robią w Stanach gdzie wszystkie Boże Narodzenie pozycje są sprzedane o 50% precz. Będę musiał wynajdować dookoła tamto.
