The cleaning lady :-)

We had to be at the new flat by 10AM to wait for delivery of our rugs. We figured we might as well do a little cleaning while we were there so we took the necessary things and while Joan did the floors, I did the dusting and window washing. Delivery arrived at 10:30AM. We unwrapped the rugs, laid them down in place and then, again, went over where the furniture would go. We left about noon, on our way to Ikea when Joan started thinking about how high the dining room table was and if the chairs would be a good fit.

Of course, we didn't measure that before so we had to return home, get the tape measure, go back to the flat and measure. With that knowledge we headed to Ikea. We selected what we wanted, went to the warhouse part of the store, pulled all of the pieces together except for the two recliners which were not in stock. Some of these things were very heavy and I feel sorry for the delivery men who will come tomorrow with it all. Not only because of the weight of the objects but because they have to carry them up four flights of stairs. I hope they are big men! They are due between 10AM-2PM so by tomorrow night we will have all the new furniture except for the recliner chairs.


Musieliśmy być w nowym mieszkaniu przez 10AM by czekać na dostawę naszych pledów. Wyobraziliśmy, że moglibyśmy również zrobić trochę czyszczenia podczas gdy byliśmy tam tak wzięliśmy konieczne rzeczy i podczas gdy Joan zrobiła podłogi, zrobiłem kurzenie i okno myjące się. Dostawa przybyła o 10:30AM. Rozwinęliśmy pledy, odłożyliśmy ich na miejscu i wtedy, znowu, przeszliśmy gdzie meble poszłyby.

Wyruszyliśmy o południu, na naszym sposobie do Ikea kiedy Joan zaczęła myślenie o jak wysoko stół jadalni był i jeżeli krzesła byłyby rzecz dobrze pasująca.
Oczywiście, nie mierzyliśmy, że przedtem tak musieliśmy wrócić do domu, dostać taśmę mierniczą, wrócić do mieszkania i miary. Z tamtą wiedzą poszliśmy do Ikea. Wybraliśmy co chcieliśmy, poszliśmy do części magazynu sklepu, ciągnęliśmy wszystkie z kawałków razem poza dwoma układającymi, które nie były na składzie. Kilka z tych rzeczy były bardzo ciężkie i współczuję ludziom dostawy, którzy przyjdą jutro z tym wszystkim. Nie tylko z powodu wagi przedmiotów ale ponieważ oni muszą nosić im w górze cztery klatki schodowe. Mam nadzieję, że oni są dużymi ludźmi! Oni są należni między 10AM 2PM tak obok jutro w nocy będziemy mieć wszystkie nowe meble poza krzesłami układającego.
