Bad beginnings.

It's Thursday, Sept. 21^st and we should be waking up in Lwow but we are not. Instead it is 12:22 in Warsaw and we are still waiting for our flight. Last night, 10 minutes before we ere to depart Poznan, LOT canceled the flight with no explanation. We were told to go to the LOT office for further instructions. Well, by the time we got there 30 people were standing in a line in front of us and ONLY ONE LOT person to deal with everyone's problems. 2 hours after standing in line we finally were given a new flight at 5:45 in the morning, 2 taxi vouchers to get home and back and it was 23:30 by the time we got home. We had 4 hours to sleep before we had to return to the airport, catch our 5:45 flight to Warsaw, wait 6 hours and then fly to Lwow. Now we are sitting, waiting for the Lwow flight. A horrible start to this trip thanks to LOT.

Now it's 19:30, we are in our room on the 4th floor after climbing 8 sets of stairs only to find our room is on the next floor up. However, no by usual stairs but by21, very thin stairs that are treacherous to Joan. My mistake, I should have asked  about that.

The room itself is large with an entranceway and bathroom. The saving grace of this place is how close it is to the center of everything. A 5 minute walk and we were at the Opera House and Baczewski's restaurant only 3 minutes from there. We tried here for dinner but the only opening they had was this Sunday at 19:00 so we took that. Instead w had dinner at On Shevska street restaurant. I had roasted goose leg with vegetables and coffee. Joan had Ukrainian Borsch and a goose breast salad with water. For desert we split a chocolate dessert with coffee. Total Cost, 63zl($23). Yes prices here are cheap. Tomorrow we start our, rested, vacation with the Opera House tour at 10:00.

Jest czwartek, 21 września i powinniśmy byli obudzić się w Lwowie, ale nie. Zamiast tego jest 12:22 w Warszawie i czekamy na nasz lot. Wczoraj w nocy, 10 minut przed wylotem z Poznania, LOT odwołał lot bez żadnego wyjaśnienia. Powiedziano nam, abyśmy udali się do biura LOT-u, aby uzyskać dalsze instrukcje. Cóż, do czasu, kiedy tam dotarliśmy ze 30 osób stało w kolejce przed nami i tylko jedna osoba obsługiwała klientów. Po 2. godzinach stania w kolejce w końcu dostaliśmy bilety na nowy lot o 5:45 rano, 2 vouchery na taksówkę, aby dostać się do domu i wrócić z powrotem i zrobiła się 23:30 jak wróciliśmy do domu. Mieliśmy 4 godziny na sen, zanim wróciliśmy na lotnisko, złapaliśmy nasz lot 5:45 do Warszawy, czekaliśmy 6 godzin, by następnie lecieć do Lwowa. Teraz siedzimy i czekamy na lot do Lwowie. To straszny początek podróży dzięki LOT.

Teraz jest 19:30, jesteśmy w naszym pokoju na 4. piętrze po wspinaczce po 8 poziomach schodów, aby odkryć, że nasz pokój znajduje się na piętrze obok. Jednak droga prowadziła nie zwykłymi schodami, ale po bardzo wąskich schodach z 21. stopniami, które są zdradzieckie dla Joan. Mój błąd, powinienem o to zapytać.
Sam pokój jest duży z wejściem i łazienką. Jedynym atutem tego miejsca jest to, że jest blisko  centrum wszystkiego. 5 minut spacerem i byliśmy w Opera House, a do restauracji Baczewski tylko 3 minuty. Próbowaliśmy tutaj zjeść obiad, ale restauracja była otwarta w ostatnią niedzielę o 19:00, więc musieliśmy to przeżyć.  Zamiast tego zjedliśmy obiad w restauracji przy ulicy  Shevska. Ja miałem pieczoną gęsią nogę z warzywami i kawę. Joanna miała barszcz ukraiński i sałatkę z piersią z gęsi oraz wodę. Na deser podzieliliśmy się czekoladowym deserem z kawą. Całkowity koszt, 63zł (23$). Tak, tutaj  ceny  są niższe. Jutro zaczynamy nasze wakacje o 10:00 od zwiedzania Opery.
