Czocha 3

So you've seen pictures of the castle and now here is the history of it.

Czocha Castle was built in the 13th century by the Czech king, Wac艂aw the Second. The castle was built to protect the Czech border between it and Poland. The castle was part of a larger fortified frontier. Gradually over time the castle lost it's function of being a fortress and fell into the hands of several noble German families.

In the 1750', Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, conquered Lower Silesia and the castle and region became part of Prussia, After German Unification in the 1800's it became part of Germany.

In 1793 a disaster occurred and the castle was derelict for almost a hundred years. In 1909 it was bought by a wealthy German tobacco merchant and he was able to restore much of it. He lived in the castle until 1945 when he fled the approaching Soviet Red Army, Since the end of WWII, it has belonged to the Polish State and 70% restored.

So we've seen Czocha and honestly, we could have seen it in one day, not two. This day we went to Luba艅 to see that city because Czocha was finished as far as exploring. It started raining when we go to Luba艅 so we didn't walk around much, just took pictures of houses, tried to visit the church but it was locked so we headed back to Czocha. On the way we went to Bo藕kowicie because that was also a place of an old fortress but we didn't see it. I made the video of our return from there to Czocha. At Czocha we managed to find the Kawiarnia inside and had coffee and cheesecake. After that, because the rain had stopped and the sun came out, we just sat in front of the castle for a while and took pictures of people.

Widzia艂e艣 zdj臋cia zamku, a oto jego historia.

Zamek Czocha zosta艂 zbudowany w XIII wieku przez kr贸la czeskiego, Wac艂awa Drugiego i zosta艂 zbudowany w celu ochrony czeskiej granicy mi臋dzy ni膮 a Polsk膮. Zamek by艂 cz臋艣ci膮 wi臋kszej fortyfikacji obronnej. Stopniowo zamek straci艂 funkcj臋 fortecy i wpad艂 w r臋ce kilku niemieckich szlacheckich rodzin.

W 1750 r. Fryderyk Wielki, kr贸l pruski, podbi艂 Dolny 艢l膮sk, zamek i region sta艂y si臋 cz臋艣ci膮 Prus, a po zjednoczeniu Niemiec w 1800 r. sta艂 si臋 cz臋艣ci膮 Niemiec.

W 1793 roku nast膮pi艂a katastrofa, a zamek zosta艂 opuszczony na prawie sto lat. W 1909 r. zosta艂 kupiony przez zamo偶nego niemieckiego kupca tytoniu , kt贸ry by艂 w stanie  wiele odrestaurowa膰. Mieszka艂 w zamku do 1945 r., kiedy to uciek艂 przed zbli偶aj膮c膮 si臋 radzieck膮 Armi膮 Czerwon膮, a od ko艅ca II wojny 艣wiatowej zamek nale偶y do pa艅stwa polskiego i  70% zosta艂o odbudowane.

Wi臋c widzieli艣my Czocha i uczciwie m贸wi膮c, mogliby艣my to zobaczy膰 w jednym dniu, a nie w dw贸ch. Dzisiaj  pojechali艣my do Lubania, aby zobaczy膰 to miasto, poniewa偶 zako艅czyli艣my  zwiedzanie Czocha. Kiedy jechali艣my do Lubania zacz臋艂o pada膰, wi臋c du偶o nie chodzili艣my, po prostu robili艣my zdj臋cia dom贸w, pr贸bowali艣my zwiedzi膰 ko艣ci贸艂, ale by艂 zamkni臋ty, wi臋c wr贸cili艣my do Czocha. Po drodze udali艣my si臋 do Bo偶kowic, gdzie jest miejsce starej twierdzy, ale jej nie widzieli艣my.

Nakr臋ci艂em film z drogi powrotnej do Czocha. W Czocha uda艂o nam si臋 znale藕膰 kawiarni臋, w kt贸rej wypili艣my kaw臋 i zjedli艣my sernik. Potem, gdy deszcz przesta艂 pada膰 i wy艂oni艂o si臋 a s艂o艅ce, po prostu usiedli艣my na chwil臋 przed zamkiem i robili艣my zdj臋cia ludzi.
