Last Latte?

So, maybe our last Latte in the rynek today. We'll be gone for two weeks and by then I think the outside cafes will close. Thus ends another season, our 10th. Even a simple thing like sitting in the rynek drinking coffee and watching the people, especially the children, makes the day worthwhile. Actually, just waking up in the morning and seeing Joan next to me does that. We've had 42 years of that, minus a few years when I had to follow my own dream of living in the forest. I wish we had 42 more but time and age won't allow that so we live each day to it's fullest. To be sure we have both changed over time but the one constant between us is love.

Now she is in the kitchen preparing tonight's dinner, large sweet potatoes with a salad. It's a little amazing how little meat we eat anymore. It's mostly various salads, fruit and pasta in spring and summer and soups in the winter. Oh, there are also the cold soups for summer like gazpacho and chłodnik. I'm happy that she finally has time to cook again after years of working. After long days at work, we usually got home at 18:00 and then, tired, she had to make dinner. Now she can take her time preparing it and that makes it more enjoyable for her........and me too. If we were rich I would hire a cook so she wouldn't have to do it at all.
