A cold day, -5C kept me in the house all day. I had nowhere to go so that was good. One year ago, we were in Spain with a temperature of 20C. Today, Carmelo said it was also 20C in the area we stayed. Tomorrow, another cold day, I have to take Joan out to see the neurologist. I will have to bundle her up in a hat, scarf, gloves, and heavy coat before we go out. I usually pull the car up right in front of the door to the outside, place the wheelchair in the car, and then walk her down the three steps to the car.
I have the application for getting a disabled sign for the car so we can park close to a door. It has to be submitted with all of Joan's health records to a board for review. If approved, then I take it to the place for it to be issued. It will make it easier to take Joan places.
We spent most of the day watching tv series and old movies. Our neighbor brought us dinner again, golumpki, and vegetable salad.
I sit here, looking at the room in which I blog and I am reminded I should change some of the pictures to have something new to look at. On the left wall are the rows of pictures of different families and individual pictures. In front is the china cabinet we bought to hold the china set I bought years ago in Chodziec, a small town north of here about 45 minutes. Joan always wanted a set so one day I said let's buy a set made in Poland and found a factory up there. We looked at different styles and decided to drive there to see what else they had. Joan and I both liked our final selection. Above the cabinet, on the left, is a picture of Joan at 25 years of age. On the right side, a picture of her at 18 years old. The older she got, the more beautiful she became. To the right of the cabinet is a pint of an original painting from our dear artist/friend from Michigan, Dietmar Krumrey.
In front of the right wall stands a cabinet holding some of the wooden jewelry boxes I made, smaller pictures, and many record album covers. On top is yet another picture of Joan, age 5 years old. Next to it a picture Joan bought of the sea with three moons that she liked very much. Below it, a picture that was taken by our friend, Sylvia Mis, in Stary Rynek. It is a reflection of buildings from a pool of water.. In front of the windows sits our drying rack.
The center of the room holds our dining table that opens up to accommodate 8 people. it is usually used for breakfast and supper.
Zimny dzień, -5C zatrzymał mnie w domu na cały dzień. Nie miałem dokąd pójść, więc było dobrze. Rok temu byliśmy w Hiszpanii, gdzie temperatura wynosiła 20C. Dzisiaj Carmelo powiedział, że w okolicy, w której się zatrzymaliśmy, też było 20C. Jutro, w kolejny zimny dzień, muszę zabrać Joan na wizytę u neurologa. Zanim wyjdziemy, będę musiał okryć ją czapką, szalikiem, rękawiczkami i ciężkim płaszczem. Zwykle podjeżdżam samochodem tuż przed drzwi na zewnątrz, umieszczam wózek inwalidzki w samochodzie, a następnie odprowadzam ją po trzech schodach do samochodu.
Mam wniosek o wydanie znaku dla niepełnosprawnych na samochód, abyśmy mogli zaparkować blisko drzwi. Musi on zostać złożony wraz z całą dokumentacją zdrowotną Joan do komisji w celu weryfikacji. Jeśli zostanie zatwierdzony, wtedy zabieram go na miejsce, aby został wydany. Dzięki temu łatwiej będzie mi zabierać Joan w różne miejsca.
4Większość dnia spędziliśmy na oglądaniu seriali i starych filmów. Sąsiadka znów przyniosła nam kolację, golumpki i sałatkę jarzynową.
Siedzę tutaj, patrzę na pokój, w którym prowadzę bloga i przypomina mi się, że powinnam zmienić niektóre zdjęcia, żeby mieć coś nowego do oglądania. Na lewej ścianie są rzędy zdjęć różnych rodzin i zdjęcia indywidualne. Z przodu jest szafka na porcelanę, którą kupiliśmy, aby pomieścić zestaw porcelany, który kupiłem lata temu w Chodcu, małym miasteczku na północ stąd, około 45 minut. Joan zawsze chciała mieć taki zestaw, więc pewnego dnia powiedziałam, że kupmy zestaw wykonany w Polsce i znalazłam tam fabrykę. Spojrzeliśmy na różne style i zdecydowaliśmy się jechać tam, aby zobaczyć, co jeszcze mają. Joan i ja polubiliśmy nasz ostateczny wybór. Nad szafką, po lewej stronie, jest zdjęcie Joanny w wieku 25 lat. Po prawej stronie, zdjęcie jej w wieku 18 lat. Im była starsza, tym piękniejsza się stawała. Na prawo od gabloty wisi oryginalny obraz naszego drogiego artysty/przyjaciela z Michigan, Dietmara Krumreya.
Przed prawą ścianą stoi szafka z drewnianymi szkatułkami na biżuterię, które zrobiłem, mniejszymi obrazkami i wieloma okładkami płyt gramofonowych. Na górze jest jeszcze jedno zdjęcie Joan, gdy miała 5 lat. Obok kupione przez Joan zdjęcie morza z trzema księżycami, które bardzo jej się podobało. Poniżej zdjęcie zrobione przez naszą przyjaciółkę Sylwię Miś na Starym Rynku. Jest to odbicie budynków z basenu z wodą... Na wprost okien stoi nasza suszarka.
Na środku pokoju stoi nasz stół jadalny, który po otwarciu może pomieścić 8 osób. zwykle jest używany do śniadań i kolacji.
Un día frío, -5C me mantuvo en casa todo el día. No tenía ningún sitio al que ir, así que estuvo bien. Hace un año, estuvimos en España con una temperatura de 20C. Hoy, Carmelo dijo que también había 20C en la zona donde nos quedamos. Mañana, otro día frío, tengo que llevar a Juana a ver al neurólogo. Tendré que abrigarla con un gorro, una bufanda, guantes y un abrigo grueso antes de salir. Suelo parar el coche justo delante de la puerta que da al exterior, coloco la silla de ruedas en el coche y luego la hago bajar los tres escalones hasta el coche.
Tengo la solicitud para conseguir una señal de discapacitado para el coche y así poder aparcar cerca de una puerta. Hay que presentarla junto con todos los expedientes médicos de Joan a una junta para que la revisen. Si la aprueban, entonces la llevo al lugar para que la expidan. Así será más fácil llevar a Joan a los sitios.
Pasamos la mayor parte del día viendo series de televisión y películas antiguas. Nuestra vecina nos ha vuelto a traer la cena, golumpki y ensalada de verduras.
Me siento aquí, mirando la habitación en la que escribo el blog y me recuerdo que debería cambiar algunas de las fotos para tener algo nuevo que mirar. En la pared de la izquierda están las filas de fotos de diferentes familias y fotos individuales. Delante está el armario de porcelana que compramos para guardar el juego de porcelana que compré hace años en Chodziec, una pequeña ciudad al norte de aquí, a unos 45 minutos. Joan siempre quiso un juego, así que un día dije que compráramos un juego hecho en Polonia y encontré una fábrica allí. Miramos diferentes estilos y decidimos conducir hasta allí para ver qué más tenían. A Joan y a mí nos gustó nuestra selección final. Encima del armario, a la izquierda, hay una foto de Joan a los 25 años. A la derecha, una foto de ella con 18 años. Cuanto más crecía, más hermosa se volvía. A la derecha del armario hay una pintura original de nuestro querido artista/amigo de Michigan, Dietmar Krumrey.
Frente a la pared de la derecha hay un armario que contiene algunos de los joyeros de madera que hice, cuadros más pequeños y muchas portadas de discos. Encima hay otra foto de Joan, de 5 años. Al lado, una foto que Joan compró del mar con tres lunas que le gustaba mucho. Debajo, una foto que hizo nuestra amiga Sylvia Mis en Stary Rynek. Es un reflejo de los edificios desde un charco de agua.. Frente a las ventanas se encuentra nuestro tendedero.
En el centro de la habitación se encuentra nuestra mesa de comedor que se abre para acomodar a 8 personas. se suele utilizar para el desayuno y la cena.
