Unique experience!

On the corner of Garbary and Wożna street is perhaps the most unique restaurant in Poland. It is the "Dark Restaurant". I've heard there is another like this in Germany, created by people without sight, to give the experience of what it is like to eat without vision. When you enter the restaurant you are taken into a dimly lit room and the waiter asks you what you DON"T like to eat. You have the choice of 1-4 course dinners but not a choice of what you eat. The only thing you know is that it will NOT BE something you don't like. From there you are taken into the dining room and seated in a room that is so dark you cannot even see your hand before your face. The chef prepares a meal for you and it is delivered but you can not see your plate. You start eating and you must rely on your sense of smell and taste to try to figure out what you are eating. You can hear other customers in the room but you don't know exactly where they are without listening hard. Everything you need to use to eat must be felt for. You have no sense of time because you can't look at a watch.

When you are done, you are led back into the dimly lit room and you have the option of the waiter telling you what you ate.

It's quite an experience.


Na rogu Garbary i Wożna ulica jest być może najbardziej unikalna restauracja w Polsce. To jest "Ciemna Restauracja". Usłyszałem tam jest inny w ten sposób w Niemczech, tworzonych przez ludzi bez widoku, by dać doświadczenie czego to jest jak by zjeść z wizją. Kiedy wchodzisz do restauracji jesteś wzięty do ciemno zapalonego pokoju i kelner pyta ciebie co nie lubisz zjeść. Masz wybór obiadów kursu 1-4 ale nie wybór czego jesz. Jedyna rzecz wiesz jest, że to NIE BĘDZIE coś, czego nie lubisz. Stamtąd jesteś wzięty do jadalni i posadzony w pokoju, który jest tak ciemny nie możesz nawet zobaczyć twojej ręki przed twoją twarzą. Mistrz kucharski przygotowuje posiłek dla ciebie i to jest dostarczone ale nie możesz zobaczyć twojej płyty. Zaczynasz jedzenie i musisz zależeć na twoim powonieniu i smakować spróbować obliczyć co jesz. Możesz usłyszeć innych klientów w pokoju ale nie wiesz dokładnie gdzie są bez słuchania twardo. Wszystko potrzebujesz użyć zjeść musisz być współczuty by znaleźć. Nie masz żadnego sensu czasu ponieważ nie możesz popatrzeć na zegarka.

Kiedy jesteś zrobiony, jesteś prowadzony z powrotem do ciemno zapalonego pokoju i masz opcję kelnera mówiącego ciebie co zjadłeś.

To jest całkiem doświadczenie.
