So, off to the ZUS office this morning to clear up whatever the problem is with our health insurance. I got there at 11:45AM, went to the machine that hands out the slip with the number for waiting in line, couldn't understand anything it was saying so I just randomly pressed a number, got the number and waited for it to appear on the screen in front of the offices.
C565, that was me and two minutes later there it was on the screen. I opened the office door, went in and found the counter with the similar number. There was nobody there. I waited, waited and waited but no one showed up. Finally, the lady behind the counter next to me asked me what I wanted and I asked her if she spoke english. She didn't but went to get someone who did. I followed that lady to her desk, explained my situation, showed her the letter I had received from the ZUS office and waited while she read it. The problem, she said, was that I had not paid for June and September and those payments were due. I got the total due, thanked here for her English and went home to make the bank transfers of the money. They have the money now, 580zl and another problem solved.

I found out one of my favorite old palaces, located in Napachanie, is up for sale. During the Communism days, families who owned these places were evicted and the property was confiscated. This one was turned into a school for agriculture. When communism fell the Polish government took it over but since that time many have been reclaimed by the descendants of the owners. Now it is owned by three relatives and they have it up for sale. A new roof was put on it a few years ago, the floors are not in good shape but the interior is still beautiful, or so I was told.
