Pie!!

Missed another day. Fell asleep before I could write it.

Joan made a new recipe, Tripe Style Chicken from the Polish Heritage Cookbook. Soup greens, chicken stock, marjoram, butter, flour maggi extract, paprika, ginger, nutmeg, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. It calls for mashed potatoes but Joan decided to serve it over flat noodles. She said it looks like a soup but isn't. To make it into a soup you have to add more water. It was very good and enough left over to have again tonight for dinner.

We also got a large bag of apples from an acquaintance who has an apple tree in her yard and can't use all that the tree produces. Joan made compote with most of them and an apple pie which required her to use her new oven for the first time. She was a little skeptical using it because all instructions are in Polish but we managed to figure it out and the pie turned out great. A little too sweet so next time she will decrease the amount of sugar.

Today we went to Carrefour to buy a dish rack. Cost 14zl($5). I measured the space at home first for it and then bought it. It's just the same size as our old one but we threw that one out when we moved. We figured it was time to replace it anyway.

From there we went upstairs to Saturn and had the last two pictures printed of my great grandfathers childern and their families. Tomorrow the wall will be completed and then I will take the final pictures of what our place looks like finished. It'll be a slide show from the first day until now.

I was hoping to visit with our Bekalarek cousins before they return to Germany but so far I haven't heard from them and I don't have their Polish cell phone numbers so it may not workout.

Chybiony inny dzień. Zapadł w sen zanim mógłbym napisać to.

Joan zrobiła nową receptę, Flaczków Stylu Kurczę od polskiej Dziedzictwa Książki kucharskiej. Warzywa zupy , rosół z kurczaka, majeranek, masło, mąki Maggi wyciągają, papryka, imbir, gałka muszkatołowa, pieprz cayenne, sól i pieprz.

Dzisiaj poszliśmy do Skrzyżowania dróg by kupić półkę naczynia. Kosztowany 14zl($5).

Everything looks YUMMY!!!! Especially the apple pie!!!
Looking forward to the slide show on your completed home. Just to let you know (saw your message on the blog), Kim has not heard from the Bekalarek's lately either.

  2. "Missed another day. Fell asleep before I could write it."
These sort of days seem to become increasingly frequent for me; there are many for which I have total non-recall...
Love all the photos and arrangements of them, and marvel at how you find time for everything :)) Guess all that wonderful food keeps you going!!
    Kind regards,
    Bronwyn.
