Chodziedz

A reader informed me yesterday that I have written 856 pages to this blog since I started. I am amazed. It seems like such a large number and yet it doesn't seem like much at all. Each day I write it I always find out new things about Poland, the people, the places, the sometimes hassles you go through as a foreigner but each day it is an enoyable part of my life and I have not once said, "Oh geez, I have to write the blog again today". I think a lot of that has to do with you, the reader of this blog and the feedback you always give me in one form or another so my thanks goes out to you for making this an enjoyable experience.

The weather still remains great outside so we went for a nice walk, then down to the store so Joan could buy some meat for tonights dinner.

When we moved into this flat we found left behind two soup bowls that we liked. The pattern seemed old, the bowl was deep and so we have been using them. Out of curiosity, last night when washing the dishes I looked at the bottom of the bowl and found the name Chodziedz. I looked it up on the interent and found that the factory that makes this porcelain china is in the town of Chodziedz, less than an hour north of us. Checking further for their website I found there are actually 5 stores there, plus the factory, who still make this china. Today, at an acquaintances house, I saw in her china buffet a complete set of china from this company and it was very nice. The most famous china in Poland is Bolesławiec, in the western part of Poland and we have four pieces from them. I have no idea what the Chodziedz china costs but it would be interesting to go there and see the factory.


Czytelnik poinformował mnie wczoraj, że napisałem 856 stron do tego blog odkąd zacząłem. Jestem zdumiony. To wydaje się jak taka wielka liczba i jeszcze to nie wydaje się jak dużo w ogóle. Każdego dnia piszę to zawsze wynajduję nowe rzeczy o Polsce, ludziach, miejscach, czasami kłopotach, które przechodzisz jak cudzoziemiec ale każdego dnia to jest przyjemna część mojego życia i raz nie powiedziałem, "Och gyyz, ja muszę napisać blog znowu dzisiaj". Myślę dużo, które musi czynić z tobą, czytelnikiem tego blog i sprzężenia zwrotnego, które zawsze dajesz mi w jednej formie albo innym tak moje dzięki wychodzą do ciebie dla robienia tego przyjemne doświadczenie.

Pogoda jeszcze pozostaje wielką na zewnątrz tak poszliśmy po miły spacer, wtedy na dół do sklepu tak Joan mogłaby kupić trochę mięsa dla obiadu dzisiejszych wieczorów.

Kiedy ruszyliśmy się do tego mieszkania znaleźliśmy opuszczaliśmy za dwoma miskami zupy, które polubiliśmy. Wzór wydał się starym, miska była głęboko i tak używaliśmy ich. Z ciekawości, ubiegłej nocy kiedy myjąc naczynia popatrzałem na dole miski i znalazłem imienia Chodziedz. Poszukałem to na internecie i znalazłem, że fabryka, która robi ta porcelanowa porcelana jest w mieście Chodziedz, mniej niż godzina na północ od nas. Sprawdzając dalej dla ich witryny sieci, którą znalazłem tam są faktycznie 5 sklepów {składów} tam, plus fabryka, która cichy robią tę porcelanę. Oczywiście, wzór mamy są starszy i nie zobaczyłem tego na witrynie sieci ale to interesowało przeczytać o spółce i to jest historia.



Dzisiaj, przy znajomości domu, zobaczyłem w jej porcelany bufecie pełny komplet porcelany od tej spółki i to było bardzo miłe. Najbardziej sławna porcelana w Polsce jest Bolesławiec, w zachodniej części Polski i mamy cztery kawałki od nich. Nie mam żadnej pojęcia co Chodziedz porcelany koszty ale to interesowałoby pójść tam i zobaczyć fabrykę.
