Strzeszynek lake, Rynek and Fountain

Too perfect a day to stay inside so we decided to explore nearby Strzeszynek Lake. It's about 2km west of us and one of the three lakes in the area. You can park right in front of it for 10zl for go a little further down the road, park on the side and walk through the woods to it. That is what we did. The path through the forest is easy to follow and you come out on the bike trail that leads to the lake. There were a lot of bikers zooming by and I only wished we had our bikes already.

We walked east a short distance and the lake was on the right side. As we approached the main place where people gather it was covered with grass and many "sunbathers" were there taking advantage of the beautiful weather. One couple in particular was interesting because of the array of tatoos on the man. We sat and watched everybody, looked at the boaters on the lake and enjoyed being outside. You can rent kayaks, boats or paddle boats if you want to go out on the lake or swim in the cordoned off area. We stayed about two hours then got back to the car for a trip to the rynek.

This weekend is "Taste of Poznań". It's similar to the Taste of Chicago but, of course, on a much smaller scale. There were many types of food available to buy along with other items. The breads were the most interesting to me. We went to Cafe 55 for our usual Cafe Mrożona, sat and talked and then took a cruise around the rynek. Only two sides of the square had food kiosks. One young man was blowing huge bubbles for kids to see. One of the most interesting and confusing things we saw was what looks like a figure of Jesus parachuting into the square on a parachute that looks like a huge bra. I don't know what it's suppose to mean or represent but it is strange.

Leaving the Rynek we went to the fountain in front of the Opera house. It's always a great place to be outside and the fountain attracts a lot of people. Some go into it, wading or playing around so I took pictures of them. I like the effect of the water droplets in the pictures. Just before we left a nice little rainbow appeared and I was able to take some pictures of it. The flower arrangements are very colorfull. Does anyone know what the white-like ferns are in between the flowers? We really like them. Slideshow on the right.

Tam były dużo typów żywności dostępnej by kupić wraz z innymi pozycjami. Chleby były najbardziej interesujący do mnie. Poszliśmy do Kawiarni 55 dla naszego zwykle Kawiarni Mrożona, usiadłego i powiedziani i wtedy wzięliśmy rejs dookoła rynek. Tylko dwie strony kwadratu miały kioski żywności. Jeden młody człowiek miótł ogromne bańki dla dzieci by zobaczyć.

Zostawiając Rynek poszliśmy do źródła przed Operą.

    3. Red Flowers - Salvia - Szalwia
    - can be grown in pots on your balcony - taller flower stalks

    4. Lower red flowers - Begonia or Sweet Peas - hard to tell

    5. Blue flowers - Ageratum

All of those can be grown in the floer box or pot on your balcony. All of them are annuals.
