The minister of education wants the age for entering school changed from age 7 to age 6 and there are a lot of parents opposed to the idea. In most of Europe, the starting age is 6 but Poland still remains at 7. The battle over lowering the age children in Poland must start school returned to the parliament this week following the success of a campaign by unhappy parents. Members most of their day arguing about the decision to lower the age. They have two weeks to decide to order a referendum about the subject.
