Jim Hall

One of my favorite guitarists died last week and I just found out about it. His name was Jim Hall and he died in his sleep at age 83. He was an active player until the end. His last concert was in August of this year. Of course, there are many guitar players in the world today but this man was one of finest. Not only was he a great soloist but he was also exceptional when backing up a singer like Ella Fitzgerald, one of the greatest jazz singers. I listened to him for over 40 years and was also impressed with his playing. Thanks to records, DVD's and YouTube I can continue to listen to him.
