Cookies.

Today Joan received a Christmas present from her cousin in the U.S. a DNA test kit. I haven't had a lot of success tracing her roots back to Hungary. Her cousin has had more but not enough. She asked Joan to submit her DNA so they could find out more about their Fredrick lineage.  The kit included two swabs for the inside of Joan's facial cheeks. I accomplished the swabbing and put them back in the containers for return to Ancestry who will do the search. They have to be mailed back and with the Christmas mail rush upon us, I hope they are received by the end of January. I don't know long the report will take. We will just have to be surprised when it is done. I think it will be online so mailing it back to us won't be an obstacle. I'm looking forward to getting new information.

Last night I made the Snow Kiss Cookies. It was my first time baking cookies. The combination of flour, crushed walnuts, butter, salt, and vanilla was a good combination, I baked 24 of them and we ate them all. Next time, I will double the ingredients in the recipe.

Dzisiaj Joan otrzymała prezent świąteczny od kuzynki w Stanach Zjednoczonych w postaci zestawu do testów DNA. Nie odniosłem zbyt wielu sukcesów śledząc jej korzenie sięgających Węgier. Jej kuzynka ma więcej, ale za mało. Poprosiła Joan o przesłanie jej DNA, aby mogli dowiedzieć się więcej o rodowodzie Fredricka. Zestaw zawierał dwa wymazy z wewnętrznej części policzków Joanny. Wykonałem wymaz i włożyłem je z powrotem do pojemników, aby odesłać do Ancestry, która przeprowadzi poszukiwania. Muszą być odesłane z powrotem i mam nadzieję, że ze względu na świąteczny ruch dotrą do końca stycznia. Nie wiem, jak długo ten raport będzie przygotowywany. Będziemy musieli liczyć się z tym, żebędziemy zaskoczeni, kiedy to się stanie. Myślę, że będzie on dostępny w Internecie, więc wysłanie go z powrotem do nas nie będzie stanowiło przeszkody. Czekam na nowe informacje.

Zeszłej nocy zrobiłem ciasteczka Snow Kiss Cookies. To był mój pierwszy raz, kiedy piekłem ciasteczka. Połączenie mąki, rozdrobnionych orzechów włoskich, masła, soli i wanilii było dobrą kombinacją, upiekłem 24 sztuki i zjedliśmy je wszystkie. Następnym razem, podwoję składniki w przepisie.

Hoy Joan recibió un regalode Navidad de su primo en los Estados Unidos, un kit de prueba de DNA. No he tenido mucho éxito rastreando sus raíces hasta Hungría. Su prima ha comido más, pero no lo suficiente. Le pidió a Joan que enviara su DNA para que pudieran averiguar más sobre su linaje Fredrick. Anoche hice las galletas Snow Kiss. Era la primera vez que horneaba galletas. La combinación de harina, nueces trituradas, mantequilla, sal y vainilla fue una buena combinación, horneé 24 de ellas y nos las comimos todas. La próxima vez, duplicaré los ingredientes de la receta.
