Market and Scrooge.

 Another gray day but a little higher temperature so the snow has melted. 

I've added a new item to our entertainment, Curiosity Stream. It's an application where you can view videos on many different subjects like Nature, Science, History, Technology, Society, Medicine, Physics, AI, Economics, Politics, and many other subjects. It's a way of learning about different subjects. Because my newer laptop has a new battery, it's easy to watch the videos in the living room with Joan. As soon as I buy a longer cable, I will be able to connect the laptop to our Smart TV and watch them on the bigger screen. It's opened up a whole new possibility for using the television.

Poznań's Christmas will not be open this year due to the coronavirus. A friend of mine told me about a good idea for buying Christmas presents. On FB there are auction sites where you can bid on hand-made items for presents. It has a two-fold benefit. First, they are charity auctions where individuals in need of monetary help receive the money. You can select any individual whose story touches you. Second, you get a nice present for someone and at the same time, you are helping someone out. All stories are verified before they are listed.

Last night we watched an interesting movie, "The man who invented Christmas". It was a story about Charles Dickens and how he authored the book, "Scrooge".  His first big hit book was "Oliver Twist," but I didn't know three books after that failed until he got the inspiration to write "Scrooge."

Dodałem nową pozycję do naszej rozrywki, Curiosity Stream. Jest to aplikacja, w której można oglądać filmy na wiele różnych tematów, takich jak natura, nauka, historia, technologia, społeczeństwo, medycyna, fizyka, sztuczna inteligencja, ekonomia, polityka i wiele innych. Jest to sposób na poznanie różnych tematów. Ponieważ mój nowszy laptop ma nową baterię, łatwo jest oglądać filmy w salonie z Joan. Jak tylko kupię dłuższy kabel, będę mógł podłączyć laptop do naszego Smart TV i oglądać je na większym ekranie. Otworzyło to zupełnie nowe możliwości korzystania z telewizora.

Poznańskie święta nie będą otwarte w tym roku z powodu koronawirusa. Mój znajomy opowiedział mi o dobrym pomyśle na zakup prezentów świątecznych. Na FB znajdują się serwisy aukcyjne, na których można licytować ręcznie robione przedmioty na prezenty. Ma to podwójną zaletę. Po pierwsze, są to aukcje charytatywne, na których osoby potrzebujące pomocy pieniężnej otrzymują pieniądze. Możesz wybrać dowolną osobę, której historia Cię poruszy. Po drugie, otrzymujesz ładny prezent dla kogoś, a jednocześnie pomagasz komuś. Wszystkie historie są weryfikowane zanim trafią na listę.

Wczoraj wieczorem obejrzeliśmy ciekawy film "Człowiek, który wymyślił Boże Narodzenie". Była to historia o Charlesie Dickensie i jak stał się autorem "Sknerusa"(Opowieść wigilijna). Jego pierwszym wielkim przebojem był "Oliver Twist", ale nie wiedziałem o trzech nieudanych książkach, dopóki nie złapał inspiracji do napisania "Sknerusa".

Agregué un nuevo elemento a nuestro entretenimiento, Curiosity Stream. Es una aplicación donde puede ver videos sobre muchos temas diferentes como naturaleza, ciencia, historia, tecnología, sociedad, medicina, física, inteligencia artificial, economía, política y muchos otros temas. Es una forma de aprender sobre diferentes materias. Debido a que mi computadora portátil más nueva tiene una batería nueva, es fácil ver los videos en la sala de estar con Joan. Tan pronto como compre un cable más largo, podré conectar la computadora portátil a nuestro Smart TV y verlos en la pantalla más grande. Ha abierto una posibilidad completamente nueva para usar la televisión.

La Navidad de Poznań no estará abierta este año debido al coronavirus. Un amigo me contó una buena idea para comprar regalos de Navidad. En FB hay sitios de subastas donde puede ofertar por artículos hechos a mano para regalos. Tiene un beneficio doble. Primero, son subastas de caridad donde las personas que necesitan ayuda monetaria reciben el dinero. Puede seleccionar a cualquier individuo cuya historia le toque. En segundo lugar, obtienes un buen regalo para alguien y, al mismo tiempo, estás ayudando a alguien. Todas las historias se verifican antes de aparecer en la lista.

Anoche vimos una película interesante, "El hombre que inventó la Navidad". Era una historia sobre Charles Dickens y cómo fue el autor del libro "Scrooge". Su primer libro de gran éxito fue "Oliver Twist", pero no supe que tres libros fracasaron hasta que tuvo la inspiración para escribir "Scrooge".
