Salad

Yesterday we made vegetable salad for dinner, a traditional Polish recipe. It made with potatoes, carrots, parsnips, celery root, peas and mayonnaise. First you cook all of them, let them cool and then cut them into little pieces. I helped Joan cut them all up because it takes time to do it and I wanted to make it easier for Joan. I bought some freshly baked bread and we ate it with the salad.

It seems there is a challenger now for Hilary Clinton in next years presidential race, Bernie Sanders. In one of those irrelevant polls this week Hilary got 49% but Sanders surprised everyone by getting 41% and he seems to be gaining support. I don't know a lot about him other than what the "conventional" media reports but who can believe them? From what I have read through different sources on the internet he appears to be a better candidate but time will tell.

More importantly, today is the day to meet with cousin Oliwia and her boyfriend. It's raining today so we will meet inside a restaurant instead of outside. In other family news, cousin Kamil got married last Saturday in Rzeszów where he lives now.

Wczoraj, na obiad zrobiliśmy surówkę według tradycyjnej polskiej receptury. Składa się z ziemniaków, marchwi, pasternaku, selera, groszku i majonezu. Najpierw trzeba wszystkie warzywa ugotować , schłodzić, a następnie pokroić na małe kawałki. Pomogłem Joan pokroić  to wszysto, bo potrzeba czasu, aby to zrobić i chciałem jej ułatwić wykonanie sałatki. Kupiłem świeże pieczywo i jedliśmy je z sałatką.

Wydaje się, że Hillary Clinton ma konkurenta w wyścigu do fotelu prezydenta w osobie  Bernie Sandersa. W tym tygdniu,  w jednej z tych nieistotnych ankiet,  Hillary otrzymała  49% , ale Sanders zaskoczył wszystkich dostając 41%,  i wydaje się, że on zyskuje poparcie. Nie wiem o nim wiele, poza tym, co z "tradycyjnych" przekazów medialnych, ale kto może im wierzyć? Z tego co czytałem z różnych źródeł w internecie, Sanders wydaje się być lepszym kandydatem, ale czas pokaże.

Co ważniejsze, dzisiaj jest dzień, kiedy spotkamy się z kuzynką Oliwią i jej chłopakiem. Dzisiaj pada deszcz więc spotkamy się wewnątrz restauracji, a nie na zewnątrz. Z innych wiadomości rodzinnych, w ostatnią sobotę kuzyn Kamil ożenił się  w Rzeszowie, gdzie obecnie mieszka.
