 A nice sunny day but still a little cold.

We watched an interesting animated movie last night, Coco. It was a story about how in Mexico, on the Day of the Dead, each house has a "shrine" where pictures of dead relatives are hung. In the alternative world of the dead, if their picture is not on the shrine, they disappear forever. It is kind of like in our own world, someone dies but as long as they are remembered by someone, they are not dead. It's something I believe. I'm not a big fan of animated movies but this one I liked.

After a lot of deliberation for days, I finally decided it was time to buy a new TV for several reasons. First, every time we want to utilize one of our external drives on a bigger screen, I have to connect this newer laptop to the TV. Even then, many of the movies or series sound is sometimes not loud enough to hear easily. I have no volume control beyond what the laptop allows. Second, because the TV is ten years old, all of the HD movies do not occupy the whole screen. On top and bottom of the movies is a large black space and the movies only occupied one-third of the screen. Third, the base of the TV is cracked so it does not sit horizontally and leans forward. I very much dislike spending the money but I did it. It will be delivered next Thursday. It is a Samsung Smart TV.

 Piękny słoneczny dzień, ale wciąż trochę zimno.

Wczoraj wieczorem obejrzeliśmy interesujący film animowany, Coco. Była to opowieść o tym, jak w Meksyku, w Dniu Zmarłych, każdy dom ma "kapliczkę", gdzie wieszane są zdjęcia zmarłych krewnych. W alternatywnym świecie zmarłych, jeśli ich zdjęcie nie jest na kapliczce, znikają na zawsze. To trochę tak jak w naszym świecie, ktoś umiera, ale tak długo jak ktoś o nim pamięta, nie jest martwy. To jest coś, w co wierzę. Nie jestem wielkim fanem filmów animowanych, ale ten mi się podobał.

Po wielu dniach zastanawiania się w końcu zdecydowałem, że czas kupić nowy telewizor z kilku powodów. Po pierwsze, za każdym razem, gdy chcemy wykorzystać jeden z naszych dysków zewnętrznych na większym ekranie, muszę podłączyć tego nowszego laptopa do telewizora. Nawet wtedy, wiele filmów lub seriali nie jest wystarczająco głośnych, aby je dobrze słyszeć. Nie mam żadnej regulacji głośności poza tym, na co pozwala laptop. Po drugie, ponieważ telewizor ma już dziesięć lat, wszystkie filmy HD nie zajmują całego ekranu. Na górze i na dole filmów jest duża czarna przestrzeń, a filmy zajmują tylko jedną trzecią ekranu. Po trzecie, podstawa telewizora jest pęknięta, więc nie siedzi on poziomo i pochyla się do przodu. Bardzo nie lubię wydawać tych pieniędzy, ale zrobiłem to. Zostanie dostarczony w przyszły czwartek. Jest to Samsung Smart TV.

 Un bonito día soleado pero todavía un poco frío.

Anoche vimos una interesante película de animación, Coco. Era una historia sobre cómo en México, en el Día de los Muertos, cada casa tiene un "santuario" donde se cuelgan las fotos de los familiares muertos. En el mundo alternativo de los muertos, si su foto no está en el altar, desaparecen para siempre. Es algo así como en nuestro propio mundo, alguien muere pero mientras sea recordado por alguien, no está muerto. Es algo en lo que creo. No soy un gran fan de las películas de animación, pero esta me gustó.

Después de muchas deliberaciones durante días, finalmente decidí que era el momento de comprar un nuevo televisor por varias razones. En primer lugar, cada vez que queremos utilizar uno de nuestros discos externos en una pantalla más grande, tengo que conectar este nuevo portátil al televisor. Incluso entonces, el sonido de muchas de las películas o series a veces no es lo suficientemente alto como para escucharlo con facilidad. No tengo control de volumen más allá de lo que permite el portátil. En segundo lugar, como el televisor tiene diez años, todas las películas en alta definición no ocupan toda la pantalla. En la parte superior e inferior de las películas hay un gran espacio negro y las películas sólo ocupan un tercio de la pantalla. En tercer lugar, la base del televisor está agrietada por lo que no se asienta horizontalmente y se inclina hacia delante. Me disgusta mucho gastar el dinero pero lo he hecho. Me lo entregarán el próximo jueves. Es un Samsung Smart TV.
