Today was very different when I took Joan for her first vaccination. When I went, I drove right up to the big tent in front of the entrance door. I parked, went inside, and in 30 minutes I was done. Today was not like that.

As I approached the building, there was a line of people about 6-8 blocks long, standing in the cold and wind. I was concerned about Joan sitting outside for what would be a long time.

Usually, pregnant women and disabled people can go to the front of a line. I wheeled Joaninto the big tent up to the entrance in front of the 50 people. However, the woman standing first in the line refused to let Joan ahead of her and was very rude. If I had command of the language, it wouldn't have stopped there. Instead, I backed Joan into a corner area and waited for them to call the 9:15 appointments. It was already 9:20 and they were still vaccinating people who had 8:45 appointments.

A few minutes later, 2 military personnel and 2 hospital workers came into the tent and said that anyone who had appointments for 9:00 or 9:15 should leave the tent and wait in another tent. Arguments took place between some of the people and the workers but nobody left.

The female worker saw Joan in the chair and instructed the military man to take her right in now for her vaccination. I was very grateful for that. In 10 minutes Joan had her first Moderna vaccination and the second will be May 18.

Back at home, I was happy to receive more family information from a distant cousin belonging to the Paulinski line, Her name is Tiffaney and she has extensive knowledge about that line. Oh Boy!

Gdy zbliżałem się do budynku, była tam kolejka ludzi o długości około 6-8 przecznic, stojących w zimnie i wietrze. Martwiłam się, że Joanna będzie siedzieć na zewnątrz przez długi czas.

Pracownica zobaczyła Joannę na wózku i poleciła wojskowemu, aby ją teraz zabrał na szczepienie. Byłem jej za to bardzo wdzięczny. W ciągu 10 minut Joan otrzymała pierwszą szczepionkę Moderny, a druga będzie 18 maja.

Kiedy już byłem z powrotem w domu i zobaczyłem, że otrzymałem więcej informacji o rodzinie od dalekiej kuzynki należącej do linii Paulinskiego, byłem szczęśliwy. Nazywa się Tiffaney i ma rozległą wiedzę na temat tej linii rodziny.

La trabajadora vio a Joan en la silla y le dijo al militar que la llevara ahora mismo para su vacunación. Estaba muy agradecido por eso. En 10 minutos Joan recibió su primera vacuna Moderna y la segunda será el 18 de mayo.
