Kakistocracy.

As the "event" of January 20th approaches it is time to add a new word to your vocabulary.....Kakistocracy.  It is a term meaning a state or country run by the worst, least qualified, or most unscrupulous citizens. The word was first coined by English author Thomas Love Peacock in 1829, but was rarely used until the 21st century. Now it seems appropriate to start using it.

I spent a few hours trying to get luggage and reserved seating added to our flight to Spain to no avail. After waiting half an hour for Live Chat on Ryanair, the information they gave me was useless. I did the same thing yesterday, followed their advice and it didn't work. Today they kept telling me their website was working but I tried it three times and although I could open it, when it came time to making the payment, nothing happened. I tried calling the airport here to talk to someone at Ryanair but, of course, there is no phone number on the internet. It always, still, amazes me at the inefficiency of businesses here, even international ones. 

W związku ze zbliżającym się  20 stycznia wydarzeniem,  nadszedł czas, aby dodać nowe słowo do słownika ..... Kakistocracy. Jest to określenie oznaczające stan lub kraj prowadzony przez najgorszych, najmniej wykwalifikowanych lub najbardziej nieuczciwych obywateli. Słowo to, po raz pierwszy ukute przez angielskiego autora Thomas Love Peacock w 1829 roku,  było rzadko używane aż do 21 wieku. Teraz wydaje się właściwym, aby zacząć je używać.

Spędziłem kilka godzin próbując dodać bagaż i zarezerwowane miejsca do naszego lotu do Hiszpanii , ale bezskutecznie. Po odczekaniu pół godziny do Live Chat na Ryanair, informacje jakie mi dali były bezużyteczne. Stosując się do ich zaleceń to samo zrobiłem wczoraj, ale nie zadziało. Dzisiaj powiedzieli, że strona działa, ale próbowałem  trzy razy i chociaż mogłem ją otworzyć to, gdy nadszedł czas dokonania zapłaty, nic się nie stało. Próbowałem zadzwonić na tutejsze  lotnisko, żeby porozmawiać z kimś z Ryanair, ale oczywiście, w Internecie nie ma numeru telefonu. Zawsze i wciąż zadziwia mnie tutaj niekompetencja firm, nawet tych międzynarodowych.
