Good day.

 A good day. We had breakfast of eggplant, vegetables, and parsnips all rolled up in wheat bread. I did not make it. This new bakery near us, Pod Strecha, makes such delights on some mornings. I have been there the past three days to see if it is available and today, when the lady saw I was waiting in line, she covered it up so no one else would buy it until it was my turn. That was very nice of her to do.

After breakfast, our friend from Pittsburg arrived for a visit. He has Polish citizenship now and he told us all about his experience getting it. He did it through the Polish Consulate in New York and had no trouble. However, he still waited 1 1/2 years to get it through the Presidential Grant program. He speaks Polish well enough to pass the language test but that did not speed up the process as I have been told it would do.

After he departed, I took two of the practice tests for driver's license from the new CD I purchased for 45 PLN($12). I failed them both, mainly because of the added 217 new questions. There are over 2000 possible question of which 32 are on the test.  It seems ridicules to have so many possibilities for questions unless it is to make the test harder to pass. Each time you fail, you have to pay again for another test. Maybe that is the reason. So, I have to study harder because without the use of our car it will be harder to take Joan to a doctor or some place else she has to go to.

For dinner we had the strawberry soup with pasta. It was good as usual, even cold. For lunch I made strawberry smoothies consisting of bananas,strawberries, grapes, brown sugar, cinnamon, whole milk, and a touch of honey.

For entertainment we have been watching the Italian series, Subarru, on Netflix. It it is a complicated plot so I have to Joan what is going on in most of the scenes. She has a hard time following it without the explanations.

Dobry dzień. Na śniadanie zjedliśmy bakłażana, warzywa i pasternak, wszystko zawinięte w pszenny chleb. Nie zrobiłam go. Ta nowa piekarnia niedaleko nas, Pod Strzechą, robi takie pyszności w niektóre poranki. Byłam tam przez ostatnie trzy dni, żeby sprawdzić, czy jest dostępny, a dziś, kiedy pani zobaczyła, że czekam w kolejce, przykryła go, żeby nikt inny go nie kupił, dopóki nie przyjdzie moja kolej. To było bardzo miłe z jej strony.

Po śniadaniu, nasz przyjaciel z Pittsburga przyjechał z wizytą. Ma on teraz polskie obywatelstwo i opowiedział nam o swoich doświadczeniach z jego uzyskaniem. Zrobił to przez polski konsulat w Nowym Jorku i nie miał żadnych problemów. Jednak wciąż czekał 1,5 roku, aby otrzymać je w ramach programu Presidential Grant. Mówi po polsku na tyle dobrze, że zdał test językowy, ale to nie przyspieszyło procesu, jak mi powiedziano.

Po jego wyjeździe przystąpiłem do dwóch testów praktycznych na prawo jazdy z nowej płyty CD, którą kupiłem za 45 PLN ($12). Oba oblałem, głównie z powodu 217 nowych pytań. Jest ponad 2000 możliwych pytań, z czego 32 są na teście.  Wydaje się to absurdalne, żeby mieć tyle możliwości pytań, chyba że ma to na celu utrudnienie zdania testu. Za każdym razem, gdy nie zdasz, musisz zapłacić ponownie za kolejny test. Może to jest powód. Muszę się więc pilnie uczyć, bo bez samochodu trudniej będzie mi zabrać Joan do lekarza lub w inne miejsce, do którego musi się udać.

Na obiad zjedliśmy zupę truskawkową z makaronem. Była dobra jak zwykle, nawet zimna. Na lunch zrobiłam truskawkowe smoothie składające się z bananów, truskawek, winogron, brązowego cukru, cynamonu, pełnego mleka i odrobiny miodu.

Dla rozrywki oglądaliśmy włoski serial Subarru na Netflixie. Jest to skomplikowana fabuła, więc muszę Joannę, co się dzieje w większości scen. Trudno jej nadążyć za tym bez wyjaśnień.

Un buen día. Hemos desayunado berenjenas, verduras y chirivías enrolladas en pan de trigo. Yo no lo hice. Esta nueva panadería que tenemos cerca, Pod Strecha, hace estas delicias algunas mañanas. He estado allí los últimos tres días para ver si estaba disponible y hoy, cuando la señora vio que estaba esperando en la cola, lo tapó para que nadie más lo comprara hasta que fuera mi turno. Ha sido muy amable por su parte.

Después de desayunar, llegó nuestro amigo de Pittsburg para visitarnos. Ahora tiene la nacionalidad polaca y nos contó su experiencia al conseguirla. Lo hizo a través del consulado polaco en Nueva York y no tuvo ningún problema. Sin embargo, aún tuvo que esperar un año y medio para obtenerla a través del programa de becas presidenciales. Habla polaco lo suficientemente bien como para pasar la prueba de idioma, pero eso no aceleró el proceso como me habían dicho que haría.

Después de su partida, hice dos de los exámenes de práctica para el permiso de conducir del nuevo CD que compré por 45 PLN (12 dólares). Fallé los dos, principalmente debido a la adición de 217 nuevas preguntas. Hay más de 2000 preguntas posibles, de las cuales 32 están en el examen.  Me parece ridículo tener tantas posibilidades de preguntas, a no ser que sea para dificultar la aprobación del examen. Cada vez que fallas, tienes que pagar de nuevo por otra prueba. Tal vez esa sea la razón. Así que tengo que estudiar más porque sin el uso de nuestro coche será más difícil llevar a Joan al médico o a algún otro lugar al que tenga que ir.

Para la cena tuvimos la sopa de fresas con pasta. Estaba buena como siempre, incluso fría. Para la comida he hecho batidos de fresas que consisten en plátanos, fresas, uvas, azúcar moreno, canela, leche entera y un toque de miel.

Para entretenernos hemos estado viendo la serie italiana, Subarru, en Netflix. Es una trama complicada por lo que tengo que Joan lo que está pasando en la mayoría de las escenas. A ella le cuesta seguirla sin las explicaciones.
