Friends.

 

Continuing my quest to get our birth and marriage registered in the Polish Registry, I had to contact the Secretary of States office in Illinois about this "apostille" required in Poland of me. The problem now was that their website was not accessible on my internet. Not discouraged, I used my circle of friends on FB for help and Joan's daughter who lives in Illinois. Thanks to Natalie and Karen on FB they weres able to get to the site and obtain applications for both the marriage license and the separate apostille. That being done, I had to make contact with the Secretaries of State for both Indiana,where I was born, and for Ohio where Joan was born. Now I just have to fill out all the forms, mail them in and wait for a reply. It took me about  hours to do all of this.

 

Kontynuując moje zadanie, aby nasze małżeństwo i narodziny  zarejestrować w USC, musiałem skontaktować się z sekretarzem urzędu stanowego w Illinois w sprawie apostilu (poświadczenie dokumentu sporządzonego w jednym państwie umożliwiające legalne użycie go w innym państwie) wymaganego ode mnie w Polsce. Problemem było to, że teraz ich strona nie była dostępna poprzez Internetem, który używam. Nie zniechęcony, wykorzystałem moje grono znajomych z FB oraz  córkę Joanny, która mieszka w Illinois, prosząc ich o pomoc. Natalie i Karen były w stanie otworzyć stronę z  serwisem i uzyskać oddzielne formularze zarówno dla aktu małżeństwa, jak i urodzin. Kiedy to zostało zrobione, musiałem nawiązać kontakt z sekretarzami stanu zarówno w stanie Indiana, w którym się urodziłem, jak i Ohio, gdzie urodziła się Joan. Teraz po prostu trzeba wypełnić wszystkie formularze, wysłać je i czekać na odpowiedź. Około godziny zajęło mi, aby to wszystko zrobić.
