Stamps.

For those of you who don't live in Poland, one of the main goals of any government office is to use hand stamps on every document they issue or accept. A hand stamp is like a government embossed seal in the U.S. Today, once again for the hundredth time in a government office I ran into a problem, trying to register my birth certificate and marriage license into the Polish registry. Even though I had the original documents with the U.S. embossed seals, they were not acceptable in Poland. The reason....NO hand stamps on either document. The marriage license had other problems. They want the names of both of our parents on the document with dates of birth. I told them that is not done in the U.S.so their answer was for me to write to the license bureau where we were married and ask them to add that information. If the bureau refuses to do that I should bring that letter back to the registry office. As for the stamp issue, I have to write to the Polish Embassy in Chicago for advice about what to do. So, for now, nothing is happening in my quest for Polish citizenship. Is it worth all of this trouble? I am not sure if it is.

Yes, Tori, the trip to Łągów was nice. The walk up the tower was the usual winding, stone staircase of very narrow stairs but we managed to get up and down without falling. Can't imagine being a knight in armor and making that climb.

Stempel ręka jest jak rząd tłoczona pieczęć w USA Today, po raz kolejny, po raz setny w urzędzie wpadłem na problem, próbując zarejestrować akt urodzenia i zezwolenie na zawarcie małżeństwa w polskim rejestrze. Choć miałem oryginalne dokumenty ze Stanów Zjednoczonych wytłoczonych uszczelek, nie były one do zaakceptowania w Polsce. Powodem .... no stemple ręczne po obu dokumentów. Pozwolenie małżeństwa miał inne problemy. Chcą nazwiska obojga rodziców na dokumencie daty urodzenia. Powiedziałem im, że nie zostanie to zrobione w U.S.so ich odpowiedź była dla mnie napisać do biura licencyjnej gdzie się ożenił i poprosić ich, aby dodać te informacje. Jeżeli Prezydium odmówi to zrobić należy zabrać ze sobą ten list z powrotem do urzędu stanu cywilnego. Jeśli chodzi o emisję znaczków, muszę napisać do Ambasady RP w Chicago o radę, co robić. Tak więc, na razie nic się nie dzieje w moim dążeniu do obywatelstwa polskiego. Czy warto wszystkie te kłopoty? Nie jestem pewien, czy to jest.

Tak, Tori, podróż do Łagowa był miły. Spacer wieża była zwykle kręte, kamienne schody o bardzo wąskich schodach, ale udało nam się w górę iw dół bez upadku. Nie wyobrażam sobie bycia rycerzem w zbroi i uczynienie tego wznoszenia.
