PZU

PZU, our car insurance company, gave themselves a Christmas present, a 23% rise in the cost of insurance for us. Last year it was 1,800 zl, this year, 2,200 zl. If we didn't do so much travelling outside of Poznań I would sell the car. However, we do and the ability to reach those out of the way villages or towns on our own schedule necessitates the car. Plus, with cold weather I'm not a fan of standing outside waiting for a tram or bus. I thought about dropping the road service option, reducing the cost by 350 zl but with a computerized car it is kind of hard to fix a problem during a breakdown. On the other hand, our Panda has never stopped working in the 8 years we had the first one and now we have a new one, actually one year old now, so it seems unlikely a problem will occur. But,,,,if there was a problem on the road I would like to be able to rely on road service without trying to find someone wherever it might happen.  So we paid the money. Better to have Joan feeling safe and secure than not.

We are late putting up our tree this year and should get to it in the next few days. Time to decorate the flat and look at the lighted tree at night.

PZU, firma, która ubezpiecza nasz samochód, dała sobie samej świąteczny prezent – dla nas  23% wzrost kosztów ubezpieczenia. W ubiegłym roku było to 1800 zł, w tym roku 2200 zł. Gdybyśmy nie robili tak wiele wyjazdów poza Poznań, sprzedałbym samochód. Jednak robimy i zdolność do dojechania położonych na uboczu wsi lub miast zgodnie z własnym harmonogramem wymaga samochodu. Dodatkowo, kiedy jest zimno nie jestem fanem, stania na zewnątrz i czekania na tramwaj lub autobus. Myślałem o zrezygnowaniu z opcji serwisu drogowego zmniejszając koszty o 350 z, ł ale samochód wyposażony w skomputeryzowany system jest tego rodzaju pojazdem, którego awarię trudno naprawić. Z drugiej strony, nasza pierwsza Panda nigdy nie miała awarii w ciągu 8 lat, a teraz mamy nową, jednoroczną więc wydaje się mało prawdopodobne, że pojawi się jakiś problem. ,,,, Ale jeśli byłby to problem na drodze, chciałbym móc polegać na serwisie drogowym nie próbując tam kogoś znaleźć, obojętnie gdzie mogłoby się to zdarzyć. Więc zapłaciliśmy. Lepiej, aby Joan czuła się bezpieczne i pewnie, niż nie.

W tym roku rozstawiamy naszą choinkę późno i powinniśmy dokonać tego w ciągu najbliższych kilku dni. Czas udekorować mieszkanie i spojrzeć na oświetloną wieczorem choinkę.
