Wigilia

 

A busy morning starting at 9:00 with a trip to the market to purchase the duck breasts for tomorrows Christmas dinner. I got they just as they were opening and bought three of them. Cost..42 zl. Yes, not cheap but it's Christmas dinner.

 

I had to stop at Carrefour on the way home to buy two more packets of smalec to finish making the cruschiki that we would take to Wigilia dinner. Back at home, Joan and I made the last plate full of them, put them in a box for delivery and we were done. Now all we had to do at 13:00 was wait for 17:00 to arrive so we could make the short trip to Marcin and Dorota's house. We thought it would only be their family of 5 plus the two of us.  We were surprised to find 6 more members of Marcin's and a guest that their daughter had brought from Switzerland where she is attending university.

 

Dinner started with a reading from the bible and then the opłatek was passed around. Dorota prepared many of the 12 dishes; 3 kinds of soup and fish, ustka, pierogi, vegetables mixed with fish and her mother-in-law, the kapusta. Everything was very tasty. Wine or juice was served with the meal and when it was over presents were handed out. Following that there were several kinds of desserts and, of course, our cruschiki which were well received. Brandy was served and because I drove there, Marcin's son drove us back home in our car, then walked home. It was an excellent evening for Joan and I and we are grateful for having friends like Marcin and Dorota.  You can view the whole event on the right side of the blog.

 

Zajęty rano zaczynają się od 9:00 z podróży do rynku kupić piersi kaczki Na jutra świąteczny obiad. I dostali tak jak były otwarcia i kupił trzy z nich. Cost..42 zł. Tak, ale nie tanie, ale to jest świąteczny obiad.

Musiałem zatrzymać się w Carrefour w drodze do domu, aby kupić dwa kolejne pakiety smalcu skończyć dokonywania cruschiki że chcemy wziąć kolację wigilijną. Po powrocie do domu, Joan i zrobiłem ostatni talerz pełen nich, umieścić je w pudełku na dostawę i byliśmy zrobione. Teraz wszystko, co musiałem zrobić, to czekać na 13:00 do 17:00 przyjazd i mogliśmy zrobić krótką wycieczkę do Martin i Doroty domu. Myśleliśmy, że będzie to tylko ich rodzina z 5 plus dwa z nas. Byliśmy zaskoczeni, sześć więcej członków Martin i gościa, że ​​ich córka przywiózł ze Szwajcarii, gdzie uczęszcza na uniwersytet.

Kolacja rozpoczęła się od czytania z Biblii, a następnie wafel został przekazany wokół. Dorota przygotowano wiele 12 potraw; 3 rodzaje zupy i ryby, Ustka, pierogi, warzywa mieszane z ryb i jej matki-in-law, kapusty. Wszystko było bardzo smaczne. Wino lub sok podawany z posiłkiem i kiedy było już po wszystkim prezenty zostały rozdane. W następstwie tego było kilka rodzajów deserów i, oczywiście, nasza cruschiki które zostały dobrze przyjęte. Brandy było podawane a ponieważ pojechałem tam, syn Marcina zawiózł nas do domu w naszym samochodzie, po czym wszedł do domu. To był doskonały wieczór dla Joan i ja i jesteśmy wdzięczni za to, że przez znajomych Marcina i Doroty. Można zobaczyć całą imprezę po prawej stronie bloga.
