The Russians are coming!

Polish national football team.

Today is the match between Poland and Russia later and the city of Warsaw is on high alert. 10,000 Russian fans will march through the city to the stadium and there is concern for safety. Police are on alert for trouble between the supporters of both teams.  There is no love between the two and it is a concern that Russian fans will do something to start trouble. One report is that Russian fan will wear red t-shirts with CCCP on them and the old communistic symbol of the hammer and sickle.  Another is that they will wear t-shirts with SMOLENSK written  and they will throw paper airplanes as they march.  Either would be a provacation to Polish fans. The Russian football league has appealed to it's fans to be peaceful and, hopejully, they will be.  The march starts at 5PM and the game at 8:45. It would be stupid to cause an international incident over a football game.

The police were to be here today at 10AM but by 11:30 no one showed up. I called and they said in 1/2 hour they would be.  1PM arrived and finally they arrived, looked at our karte pobytu, wrote down the information on them and in five minutes they were gone.
