Although we've been together for 40 years, today is our "official" wedding anniversary of 27 years of legal marriage. It was also a hot day in 1988 when we got married and the church had no air-conditioning so by the time the service was over my light gray suit was much darker because of all the sweating we did during the service. It was a small wedding party, just my mother and our kids. We were working that year and didn't have time for a honeymoon so after the wedding Joan and I stayed in a hotel. That evening we went to an old Opera house in a small, nearby town where a concert was being held of music by Mozart. After the concert we returned to the hotel to what we thought would be a nice quiet evening but were badly mistaken. The hotel had hired a band to perform live music of the Beatles and because it was so hot they decided the perfect place for the stage was outside, directly below the window of our room. They started playing at 9PM and didn't finish until 2AM. What was worse was that the band was so bad. Their instruments were not tuned properly so for me, a musician at the time, it was horrible. In the morning I vigorously complained to the management about our stay and they gave us the night for free.

Actually, August 12th is now a triple celebration day. It is our wedding anniversary, the birthday of my mother and the day Joan had her aneurysm in 1996. The celebration of her aneurysm is not that she had one, but that she survived it and almost completely recovered. Following the brain operation to repair the damage done she had a stroke that paralyzed her right side and took away her ability to speak. It took over a year for her to recover and the only thing that remained was a little loss of short term memory. So our celebration is that she survived both things and worked hard to recover. It was also on that day that I prayed to God for 6 hours during the operation to help her live and recover. He did. So tonight, as I take my wife out to celebrate this day, these are the three things we will be celebrating.

Zaczęli grać o 9 wieczorem i nie zakończyć do 2 nad ranem. Co było gorsze było to, że zespół był tak zły. Ich instrumenty nie zostały dostrojone prawidłowo, więc dla mnie, muzyka w czasie, to było straszne. Rano energicznie skargę do kierownictwa o nasz pobyt i dali nam noc za darmo.

Faktycznie, 12 sierpnia jest już potrójne święto dzień. To jest nasza rocznica ślubu, urodziny mojej matki i dzień Joan miała tętniaka w 1996 roku obchody jej tętniaka nie jest, że ma jedną, ale przeżyła go i prawie całkowicie odzyskana.
