BAH!

After today, if Joan said she wanted to move today, I would say start packing and let's go. Today was the defining moment of idiocy in Poland for me. I am tired of the way things are done here. Why? Well let me tell you about today.

I received a call from a friend who knows people in PZU, our insurance company. They said they had no record of our accident. I called our agent and he said you had to report it directly to the Call Center. When the accident occurred, a man wearing a PZU insignia came with the tow vehicle to take our car and us to where our car would go. When we got there, I signed papers, told them what happened and they gave us a vehicle to use until the case was settled. When I reported that to the Call Center, they said that place was not an official PZU facility and I would have to get it out of there and have it taken to their place in Poznań. They would send a tow truck to meet us and pick up the car.

So, at 2:30PM I went to get the car only to find out that they would only release it for 671zl for the two day use of another vehicle, towing charges and space rental for where the damaged car was. They were angry I wanted the car back and said they were a service company for PZU. Another call was made by me to PZU and again I was told they were not. In order to get the car released, 671zl must be paid in CASH. Naturally I didn't have that kind of money on me and they refused credit cards. They told me to walk 200 meters to an ATM to get the money. Having no choice but to do it, I did.

The PZU tow truck took the car and me to their facility in Poznań where I was told a car for use would be waiting for me. It was 4:30PM when we arrived and the office was closed.  No car or person was waiting for me. The tow truck driver said to call a taxi to get home and I was all the way on the other side of town. Furious, I called my agent who called the boss of the driver and persuaded him to have the driver take me home. which he did. Arrival time at home was almost 7PM. Another call to my agent and he said they would deliver the courtesy car in the morning to my flat. He will also come over tomorrow with papers to sign to get back the 671 zl. I am so angry. Almost like the straw that broke the camels back about moving, if you know what I mean. At this moment, I don\t exactly feel the Christmas spirit and we haven't even put up our tree thanks to the accident.

Zadzwoniłem do naszego agenta, a on powiedział, że musiałem to zgłosić bezpośrednio do Call Center. Gdy doszło do wypadku, mężczyzna ubrany w insygnia PZU przyszedł z pojazdu holowniczego, by zabrać go  i nas tam, gdzie nasz samochód zostanie odholowany.

Powiedzieli, by iść 200 metrów do bankomatu po pieniądze.
Wściekły, zadzwoniłem do mojego agenta, który z kolei zadzwonił do szefa kierowcy i ten namówił go, aby  zabrał mnie do domu. Co uczynił. Kiedy przyjechałem do domu była prawie godzina dziewiętnasta. Kolejny telefon do mojego agenta, a on powiedział, że dostarczą samochód zastępczy rano pod mój blok. On przyjdzie jutro z papierami do podpisania, aby odzyskać 671 zł.

  1. Don't be distraught, I am sure this happens everywhere. I remember paying my taxes ahead of traveling while telling my custodian to monitor bills. She paid taxes for me twice, and I had to wait 6 months for a refund. Same for the IRS. Eventually, it will work out. Sounds like you had a "pirate" tow company and PZU has to punish this company. That happens in the USA a lot.

All things will pass-- as an astrologer (though telling you this in hindsight,
there was a very 'tough' aspect going on this week involving Moon/Mars/Uranus/Pluto
-- the first planet acts as a trigger (and yes, emotional upset), the next two are
notorious for "car accidents", the last governs transformation (death and rebirth).

The point of telling you this after the fact?

    1) So you have some peace knowing "this too shall pass"
    2) That your transformation just involved your "car", and not lives!

It'll all work out...and easier so if you don't fight it with resistance...say goodbye to the old car and hello to the new car....
